Candlewood Suites Kansas City - Independence, an IHG Hotel

The front desk gal was awesome, I highly recommend this hotel for everyone. The manager on duty tonight is beyond wonderful. She gave us info on pizza places, We stay at many hotels and for the price, this hotel is far better then many we’ve stayed at and less then half the price. Dog friendly. $25 a night is cheap these days for a fur baby!

We checked in with Camellia, she was so pleasant and informative of all the amenities. This property had a leading library with everything to make you feel more at home. When we got to room we were stocked by how big it was with a fully stocked kitchen and office area. I would Highly recommend this property for long term business travelers or families.

We really enjoyed this property and is family friendly. With restaurants and amenities close by.

The room was comfortable, clean, and we loved the kitchen. We will be returning when we come to visit family.

To start with to even get to our room we had to weave between large pile of dirty linens left in the hallway (at 8pm at night) and right outside our room. No luggage cart were found and when asked about them the front desk worker let out a huge sigh of annoyance to have to go find them. The pool was not open within the hours publicly posted. We had other family members at the hotel who could not get into there room for 3 hours after "check in time", had no toliet paper in room, or had toliets with urine left in them. Then after leaving the property I discovered they overcharged me by over $300 and I will not receive my money back until a manager can come to the property. (Personally i think that should be a theft charge as I am unable to make purchases that I needed to today and am lucky to have a credit card to buy gas to get home). For the amount of money paid to stay and the outside appearance of the building it lacked in every other area.
