La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Springfield South

I would give this 5 stars, however one of the front desk front staff worker's, John absolutely ruined my stay. I left a day early and checked in at a different hotel due to his behavior. He was rude and condescending, treated me like trash for using Expedia to book my room and in correctly quoted me the healthcare discount. After speaking with his manager Maria, i was much happier ( assiming he is taken care of.) I was given the real discount, which was a $10 difference. Maria was professional and curtious given the situation. Brady was amazing! He has the best customer service, give that kid a raise!

I’ve never made a review on my stay but this warrants a review. One word. Bed bugs. My daughter woke up yelling mom there was a bug on me. Sure enough her bed was crawling with adult and baby bed bug. When I talked to the a.m. front desk manager her response was, “that’s very serious we’ll have to have a third party confirm that’s was it was”. This was as I was walking out with my belongings which were originally neatly packed in my suitcases, in trash bags. The GM contacted me the following day and apologized and offered a 1 night refund on my 2 night stay. That refund has still not been reflected in my bank account.

Had a great stay here with the two grandkids. Just a few blocks to the Worlds of Wonder Aquarium and museum (amazing!) and Bass Pro. Lots of dining and shopping options very close by. Hotel was quiet and clean with a great indoor pool. Breakfast had hot options as well as cereal, muffins, yogurt, etc. the staff was very friendly. Great place to stay.

She was very good kids had a great time at the pool… Kind of a breakfast was actually better than most…

Check-in was a breeze. We only stayed one night. We were gone most of the day, because we were visiting for a gymnastics meet. We got back to the hotel a little after 9pm and decided to let the kids swim for a bit. We got to the the pool around 9:30pm, at 9:45 the fire alarm went off. People were waiting in the lobby, so we kept swimming. Pool is right next to lobby. Whoever was at the front desk, came to us and told us we set the alarm off by splashing the water. We were not splashing water before it went off and not sure how that would affect the fire alarm, but ok, so we left the pool. At around 2:50am, the fire alarm goes off again, a couple of times!!! 5 hours later, fire alarm goes off, but it was our fault?? Pool closes at 10pm, so what set it off this time? Still our splashing?? None of it made sense and did not like being accused of setting the alarms off. Will not be staying here again.

I loved being assigned to the quiet 3rd floor. I am in town to comfort a friend whose family member is in the very last hours of life. The quiet floor and clean and inviting hotel was just what I needed

After reading lots of reviews we finally choose this one! It was convient and the price was right. When I walked in the smell of musty chlorine was super strong. But, the pool is right beside the lobby so, understandable I guess. Altho it's strong enough it filters into the rest of the motel as well.. I used to work at a place that had a pool and the same smell so it wasn't a huge deal for me. I did drop a star because of it tho.. I figured some may not like it. Check in was smooth and reception was great. Our room was clean and comfortable. Somone mentioned Lumpy pillows. They may have been slightly Lumpy but still comfortable enough to sleep well! We did use the pool. The room was warm and the water a little bit on the cooler side. But the kids loved it! I left my insulated cup of water in the room and they called to let me know. I was very grateful because I would have missed it really quickly after breakfast! I would definitely stay here again!!

Really enjoyed the room, it was a very nice hotel for my vacation to visit family!

This La Quinta is pretty clean though even though there's a new construction project going in next door (as of May 2023) - it doesn't seem to interfere with anything. There is a medium size indoor pool that my kid had a blast playing in. We were traveling with a dog, so our room did smell a little "doggy" when we first got there from a previous occupant, but everything was clean (and I'm sure we left our own doggy smell) We didn't have any issues and the front desk and breakfast crew was super helpful if we had any questions. Overall, I keep coming back to this one because it really is in a perfect location if you have a lot of Springfield stuff to do on both sides of town and isn't skeezy like the hotels on the north side.

The room was clean, the bed was soft, the breakfast had a great variety, and the staff was super friendly! I would probably bring my own pillow next time though, theirs were very flat and uncomfortable. Mid-week was very quiet and pleasant, however, as people checked in on Friday we quickly realized that the walls are PAPER THIN! Dogs barking, kids running the halls, and both our neighbors had very loud televisions. The only reason I didn't complain is that we were already leaving early the next morning.
