Hotel Ivy, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Minneapolis

From the moment of our arrival to our departure, the service was warm, professional and helpful. The hotel was clean, simply and elegantly appointed yet warm. Everything we needed for our stay was provided. We were able to enjoy and walk wherever we needed to go and were readily referred by hotel staff, to a restaurant that met our families needs. Our experience could not have been better. Minneapolis Hotel Ivy is our family go to hotel.

The Hotel Ivy proved to be more show than service, and we will not stay here again nor recommend it. The only plus side was the restaurant, which had fantastic food, though we had one great waiter in the evening and one so-so one in the morning. The woman, Crystal I think, whom I spoke with was the only one who provided top notch customer service answering all questions and exceeding expectations. With the other guys, it was like pulling teeth. Example: "Is there a place to walk our dogs?" J: "I'm not sure." Silence. "Grassy spot? Small park?" J: "Um, I think there's a dog park nearby." Silence. "Okaaay... Where?" J: "Three blocks." He literally went from not knowing to a specific answer. He continued this lack of interest in being helpful our entire stay, and he wasn't the only one. For a hotel that costs upwards $200+, this is inexcusable. The refrigerator in our room was packed to the gills with costly beverages to purchase(instead of just a few like other places), which made removing them to use the refrigerator a timely process. We were told the parking garage next door was close to the cost of their valet service, which is $28/night, but our total for three days (the car didn't leave, however) in the garage was about $10. The hotel is NOT family-friendly. Save your money, and stay at a cheaper hotel with an in-room refrigerator, microwave, a pool that allows kids, cheaper parking, better service, and continental breakfast.
