Hotel was very clean and comfortable. Great for families. Beach and Boardwalk right outside the hotel. Tons to do and eat within walking distance. The beach right outside the hotel was dirty. Found a live round of ammunition and a needle. Also homeless camps nearby. Nicer, cleaner, beach to the east across the lift bridge.

We had a lake view bedroom and my family loved it! It was their first time in Duluth and it was always a treat to come back to our comfortable, clean space.

Very nice property. Lots of families. Beautiful views. The area was easy to walk through, to get to what we wanted. It is a little difficult to get to the parking lot, but there was enough parking. We easily got on the bike trail to go for a ride along the lake.

Great place and great location. Easy walk to the canal and trails. Nothing to do with the hotel but there were some homeless people and others near the canal or trails. As family it didn’t seem to be too safe after dark.

Very nice hotel on the waterfront. A little dated but has the lodge feel that is very clean. Really like the family room areas with comfy couches and tables. You don’t have to be cooped up in your room during inclement weather. Love the access to the lake walkway and private patio with fire pit.

Duluth was frigid. The property advertised the Bentleyville Christmas Light Show, one reason we were in Duluth. But it did not have suggestions for the most direct route to walk there from the hotel. It was a bitterly cold walk. We looked forward to warming up from our walk in the hot tub. On our return to the hotel, the swimming area was abandoned...the heating could not stand up against the winter weather. We had to really crank up the heat in our room. It would have been nice to know of this practice and maybe gotten a complimentary something to ease our deep disappointment. Additionally, the hotel did not have a late night "adults only" time for the pool area. This is a practice we really appreciate and use. The hotel should consider this policy. Expedia said it could/would communicate with the hotel of any needs we had. I replied that we needed two more blankets. We were not contacted nor were the blankets delivered. I don't know where the communication was disconnected. But that should be remedied. Despite an admirable policy of "All persons under the age of 14 will be accompanied by an adult in all public areas" the policy was not strictly obeyed. I am sure it is difficult to enforce the policy, but it probably kept running and screaming the halls to a minimum. I would like this policy to be adopted industry wide...until there are some hotels or floor in hotels where children are not welcome for the peace and quiet enjoyment of the guests.

Location, convenience, and a great breakfast! This is an excellent hotel in the canal Park area next to the lake walk along lake Superior. It's conveniently located and walkable to everything around canal Park. Breakfast in the morning was well done, delicious and a great way to start the day. We even walked down to the lift bridge area at night to see a ship coming in at 9:30 and felt very safe walking from the hotel to there and back even though it was dark outside. The walking path is well lit and there were many families out doing the same thing. I highly recommend this hotel but wish it was more reasonably priced so we could stay there more affordably.

Loved being on Lake Superior with many options for food/shopping/recreation within walking distance. For both adults and children. We would have liked an open buffet for breakfast better than the option avalible of grabbing a tray and plate and being served by staff. This option only allowed one plate with no option of refilling or grabbing a little more if still hungry. We feel that for the price the hotel charges, they could easily allow what most other hotels have an unlimited buffet. We will stay again and very much enjoyed everything.
