If you’re looking for a chain hotel with identical laminate rooms this isn’t the place for you. But if you want an absolutely world class experience, with stellar customer service, rooms and suites that are unique unto themselves and all decadently opulent, lush courtyards, lacy wrought iron balconies, and a tranquil pool, then this is your place. The core of the property is a mansion that was built in 1839, and is furnished with antiques and art that are true to that. There are also several connected and close by buildings that make up the remainder of the hotel, and help provide a comfortable experience for guests from couples to large families. The staff, and especially John the concierge, do all they can to make your stay enjoyable. He was happy to recommend dining and other venues and options to enhance our visit, and was always glad to answer questions. The hotel is 1/2 block off Bourbon, so you’re in the heart of the French quarter, but our street facing balcony room was never too noisy. There is onsite parking for an additional fee, and while they don’t have a restaurant they do have a coffee bar, cookies, snacks, and cold bottled water all free in the beautiful front parlor. There are a couple of stairs up to the front door, and some small step up or downs between the different buildings. But I was told they have a different entrance that is wheelchair accessible. Oh, and there are three adorable cats that roam the public spaces, which is the perfect touch.

The Olivier House is a unique, charming, historical hotel. The property is filled with antiques and around every corner there seems to be a hidden courtyard or beautiful garden. It is very close to Bourbon Street which makes it conveniently located in the middle of the French Quarter and all of the shops and restaurants that the area has to offer. That also means it can be very loud into the middle of the night which can make sleep difficult. Our room, while comfortable, had a very strong musty smell (overwhelming smell) and the floor was dirty, especially an area rug that was filthy, The bathroom was updated and the shower had good water pressure and 2 shower heads. The beds were very comfortable and the property as a whole was unique and a fun place to stay for a few nights. The house cats were a huge hit for our child. The cookies were a huge hit for my husband.

My family and I loved this hotel! So unique and beautifully decorated. They have complimentary drinks and snacks and sweet, little hotel kitties. Biggest complaint, is the beds. Incredibly uncomfortable. Would stay again though.

The property had a very cool Victorian vibe to it everything felt original and very well maintained, the staff was super friendly and the place was very clean and put together. While it is close to Bourbon Street it felt very safe where we were. All the pictures I saw online don't even do it justice when you see it in person would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family

In French Quarter - lovely property with antique furnishings - small, but nice pool. Lots of areas to explore within property. Water bottles supplied, coffee, and fruit. 3 friendly cats. Cons: units have limited lighting - staff was friendly - but disappointedly- unknowledgeable about this unique property. I asked what year it was built - one said 200 years, another said 300 years ago- would have loved to learn more. When asked for advice on where to go, staff did not seem to know the area. While the property is lovely - I would not recommend for families - stay outside the French quarter instead. It’s loud, bums everywhere (urinating in street), some restaurants did not allow children in after 4pm, generally not appropriate for kids. This would be a great place to stay for adults interested in drinking and partying.

We stayed in 210, a 2 bedroom/1 bath suite. It was extremely quiet yet right in the middle of the Bourbon Street insanity. We traveled with a toddler and my mother in law. They were comfortable while my wife and I enjoyed a night out on the town. It was quiet enough for them to go to bed early and us not wake them up when we came home late. This is a no frills hotel, so if you want chocolates on your pillow then go to a Hilton. If you like history and can help yourself to coffee, and want a quiet and convenient stay in the French Quarter then you’ve come to the right place. Valet parking was pricey (all parking is in this area) but incredibly convenient for us.

Love the place and can’t wait to visit again. From the grounds to the quirky halls and cool doors… it was awesome. Can’t say anything negative about. The staff were very accommodating and super chill considering we traveled with 3 young children. Fabulous from A to Z.
