My family has stayed at the Dauphine Orleans for years and we have always loved it!! The location is perfect. Sadly, the hotel was not clean and has gotten very run down. Also, we didn’t have hot water for showers. The next time we travel to New Orleans we’ll definitely have to find a new spot to stay.

We had a quick stay here as we were on our way to a family wedding. We wanted someplace to stay that gave us easy access to the French Quarter and all it's lovely quirkiness that we enjoyed years ago. The people at the Dauphine from the reception to the valet are wonderful! Great recommendations for restaurants, but the best bar experience of the night goes to May Bailey's place. We night-capped here :) Perhaps ended up at a drink or two more! It is attached to our lovely hotel, filled with mostly guests doing the same as we were...music was fun, guests were lively "on their way to their rooms" and the bartender was fantastic! We forgot her name (Jennifer sticks in my head but I may be wrong) She knew how to interact with her crowd, she was very pleasant and busy! Her Sidecar was one of the best we'd ever had! Overall, great vibe, rooms are lovely and old, just as expected and very clean. The Dauphine has a tiny dark lift that we loved, very reminiscent to places in Europe. And ...across the street, Deja Vu Bar & Grill breakfast is worth the stop! The food was excellent, bar was clean and old school! Perfect for the morning after in New Orleans!

Took my family for Mardi Gras. Paid $775 for a 2 night city view room. Arrived rhe parking attendant was Great (best asset to the place) got charges extra $102 to park at the property. Didn’t get the city view. Toilet didn’t work most of the time and the shower would not drain.
It was walking distance to literally EVERYWHERE!! We had a blast but would not stay here again, especially for the price and extra parking.

Unfortunately the property was incredibly noisy from loud clanging outside all through the night. Dirty from age which is to be expected I suppose but it was pretty bad in some areas. The coffee bar went downhill every day…from 4 kids of beverages and 2 kids of creamer down to one kind of coffee and no creamer over a couple of days. A decent coffee bar continuing through the duration would have gone a long way.

Great property and location. We upgraded to a courtyard suite and it was large and comfortable with loads of charm. A few noises from above, but that’s New Orleans baby!

This location is perfect for the New Orleans experience. Close to shopping, downtown and Bourbon St (if that is your thing). The hotel is perfect for families and those who are on the run. Poolside is wonderful. Love the staff as they work hard to make your stay enjoyable.

WORST hotel I have ever stayed in. Do NOT be fooled by the pictures shown (you will not be in that room!) -- you will be put into the smallest, darkest room possible if you book through Travelocity -- even if you book an upgraded room.
"Deluxe" King rooms do not have refrigerators -- though deluxe rooms with 2 beds do. Housekeeping only comes every 3rd day or so....depends on how they feel, I guess (and they only swap out towels and make the bed -- no vacuuming even when there are obvious crumbs on the floor from the last guest). The cart was on our floor each of the 5 days we were there -- not sure what they were doing, since there were only a few other rooms occupied on our floor.
The worst part of our room: a fan motor that buzzed incessantly for FIVE DAYS -- despite MULTIPLE complaints (and multiple promises to move us that never happened). It took two days for maintenance to come 'look' at it -- they determined it couldn't be fixed (or unplugged -- because the room wouldn't have any heat). While I sat in the room on Friday night waiting to be moved, my family went out without me. The desk clerk never got around to moving us. The last 2 nights we slept in our kids room because I was getting headaches from the constant buzzing.
I emailed the hotel manager (apparently not onsite during the 5 days we were there) and included video of the buzzing. Still waiting for his response.

I really want to like this hotel as the staff are so nice, but I cant rate it highly. The TV in the room didnt work, nor did the shower. The power sockets were hanging off the wall (not great with kids around) and the swimming pool was filthy. Great location for the tourist district though.

First time visiting New Orleans and the hotel was just not what was pictured in the brochure. I reserved 2 rooms. The first was a king size bed room. The first room we were in smelled of mildew and the furniture was wet. We requested other room and was told that since the computer was down they would have to call the owner/manager if it was ok to move us. I was frustrated because who wants to smell mildew. I had to let them know that I have Asthma and I would not be staying in the room. We were finally given another room which was not better but no mildew. The French door in the room had 3 locks and we shared a balcony with the room next door. The lock for the deadbolt has a hole so just come on in! The rooms are so dark needs a lighter color paint, the carpet is dirty and the hall light was very dim. The bathroom has a commercial toilet so make sure to wear shoes so you can flush the toilet. The second room was a 2 queen bed it was a little better but still dark, commercial toilet and the shower did not work so only baths. I reserved the rooms because of the pictures on the web. I will not make reservations here again. We wanted to stay at a historic hotel in the French quarter but when we go back next year the Hilton, Ritz or Marriot will see me and my family.

80% of the rooms are ordinary typical hotel rooms. The website is misleading as the rooms they show with the exposed brick, charm etc are not typical. If you are lucky enough to get one of those they are wonderful. My family was in a room on the fourth floor of the main building and it was not great. It could have been a motel 6 with small windows, very disappointing. We however were in an incredible room off the courtyard. So buyer beware and check what room you are getting. It should be made clearer on their site. The staff were wonderful!
