Courtyard by Marriott Sioux City Downtown/Convention Center

The cleaning crew should clean baseboards, behind the TV, corners(my kids found a stuffed animal in the corner right behind the chair), under chairs and under beds(my kids found bottle caps under the beds), other then that, the rest of the room was Clean!!! When we checked in, the lady at the front desk was Very Nice!!! The pool and pool area was also nice, the kids Loved it!! The only thing it did Not have that the kids really wanted was the Free breakfast...

When we arrived they didn’t have the 2 queen beds that we had reserved so they “upgraded” us to an executive suite. We were traveling with 2 adults and 3 kids. The room included a king bed with a single pullout so our son was forced to sleep in a chair. This suite had a master light switch by the door which controlled the lights in the bedroom so in order to have the lights off in the bedroom the master switch had to be off. This meant when the kids got up to use the restroom at 4 am the lights had to turn on in your bedroom in order for them to use the bathroom light. Completely ridiculous. Then we had a rowdy group in the room above us and I gave them grace until 1 am at which time I called the front desk. Again at 1:45 called the front desk. Again at 3:30 am had to call the front desk because it literally sounded like bowling balls being dropped over top of us. Needless to say we got zero sleep between the lights going on and off as the restroom needed used, my son sleeping in a chair and the party above us. Do not recommend!

When we got there to check in our reservation that i had made months in advance had been cancelled due to them overbooking. They sent us to another hotel and eanted me to have the front desk call the marriott so they could work out a deal for us since they screwed up and that hotel was booked. Our show at started at 6 and we wasted all our time trying to get a place to stay that we didnt get to change or freshen up prior. And we never ended up with a room. It was supposed to be a fun get away for my husbamd and I as we never get away from our kids and it was a nightmare because of the Marriott. We ended up just going home after the show and got home at 1 30 am. I was so unhappy. What makes it even worse I still havent been refunded for the room to my knowledge. I will never book a marriott again!

One night stay. Grew up in SC, and visit a few times a year. First time staying here, and it will likely be my new “go-to”. Everything from cleanliness to comfort was what I expected from a relatively new hotel. Was concerned about street noise since the property is located in the only real “entertainment district” SC has besides the Hard Rock, but I was not bothered by noise from outside, or in, but do not know if nearby rooms were occupied. Like many downtown/urban areas SC also has its fair share of “wandering folk”, so vehicle security is always a concern. Parking was adequate and free (rare!), with controlled vehicle access. There are no attendants or surveillance that I could see, and like most parking garages, it was open to pedestrian traffic, so I would not leave anything in my vehicle that might tempt ne’er do well types. I was only there for one night, so did not make many demands of staff, but what contact I did have was pleasant and professional. Location is great. Likely too great in respect to ever being able to just go enjoy a nice quiet freshly made donut and cup of joe at my “must visit” morning hang whenever I am in town. Not helping my case by mentioning it, but walk the block to “Jitters” for donuts from the same machine that made them for me when I was a kid (I’m mid 50’s now). They are delicious, and worth whatever wait you might experience, especially if you get them while they are still hot. Will definitely book again.

My wife and I went to Sioux City for the weekend to visit our kids. The hotel was amazing and in a great location right in downtown. We'll definitely be staying here again the next time we need a hotel there.

We had a great stay. The hotel was attached to the convention center where my kids had their dance competition and it was very convenient!
