Hyatt House Indianapolis Downtown

We came here for a Pacers game and specifically picked this hotel for the location and the pool for the kids. We got here plenty early to go swimming only to be notified the pool was closed for maintenance. Everyone at the hotel could not give us a clear reason or explanation and would not tell us when it would open again. I feel as though they could’ve posted something on there website because I would’ve canceled staying here and found a different hotel. I think it was more the fact that no one wanted to say what was going on as we asked if it was going to be open the following day. Other workers made it sound like it has been closed for days but who knows. Kind of bummed that there wasn’t a notification on the website.

Good location, good breakfast. Only negative was the pool was pretty chilly. My son was looking forward to swimming all week but both him and another child ended up cold and shivering.

We did not get the room we booked. the pool was out of order but worst of all the noise from outside was horrendous. All night long there was loud music blaring as well as cars continuously revving their engines and loud motorbikes circling the hotel. When i complained to the front desk, it seemed like this was common. As a family with a baby, they should have put us in a different room. If you have kids or want a restful night sleep, this is not the place to stay.

So overall this was a fantastic hotel and stay. My one and only complaint was the smell in the hallway on the 15th floor from what I assume was the leaking ice machine. The smell did not come into my room. It was only in the hall. Other than that everything was AMAZING. The staff were wonderful and friendly, the room was quiet and comfortable, huge flatscreen tv was awesome, included hot breakfast was great, kids loved the pool on the top floor. Great overall experience! Thank you, will stay here again for sure!

Check in was so easy and quick, the room was perfect for the few days we were there. The small kitchenette didn’t have a full set of plates/utensils for 4 people, but plastic silverware was easy to come by. Loved the split feeling of the room with the kiddos on the pull out, able to watch tv or we could all fit on the bed for a movie! Also, something to be aware of, lots of people like to drive the tunnel and rev their engines later in the evening, but the kids slept through it. Just a bit annoying, but not anything the hotel could do about it.

Expedia advertised a room with a sofa bed for the kids. When I checked in they put me in a room without a sofa. The hotel claimed Expedia does this all the time and it’s just a request for a sofa bed. They also made me revise this review because the first and second one were more descriptive.

We stayed here for the pool and hot tub. When we checked in the women helping us informed us the pool and fitness room was on the 15th floor. When we tried to use to pool it was closed all day for maintenance. Why wouldn’t you let your guest know this when checking in instead of just telling what floor it was on. Our kids were very disappointed.

The front desk was so nice! We were greated promptly and checked in very quickly. The hotel is in a great location downtown with 3 on site restaurants. The complementary breakfast was delicious and had everything you could want. Parking is $40 for valet, but it is a downtown hotel. My family and i would definitely stay here again.

Our experience of this property didn't start off on the greatest foot. Valet was a joke. We had to circle around the block about 15 times because the cars in the designated area were not being moved. My husband kept driving in circles, while I jumped out and had to ask for cars to be moved, so we could unload in a safe place, as we were traveling with a 2 year old. Check in was easy, and the room was nice, until we arrived home from a late dinner. We were placed in room 302. If you are wanting to sleep, please do not ever accept room 302 as it is right above the night club. It was so loud and our room was vibrating from the bass of the music. I expected some noise from the street below, but nothing like that. The loud music lasted well into the night, and caused our toddler to not sleep most of the evening. Which in turn, really ruined the next day at the children's museum, as my 2 year old was so tired and cranky that we spent less than an hour at the museum and subsequently cut our family weekend short to drive back home. I was really looking forward to a nice couple of days in Indy, and it could have been a really fun time, had we all gotten more adequate sleep. In my younger years, that room would have been fine as I would have been out enjoying the night life myself, but it was not a great location to put a family with a young child. The Hyatt House could be the best hotel in Indy, but it really left a horrible impression on us.

The hotel room was clean and just right for our family with two younger kids. The breakfast was perfect for our needs. The one area I’d improve was the pool. Our kids love to swim and the first day we were there, the pool was freezing cold, even for kids that love the water. The pool set up was kind of odd as well with the raised walls/edges. Made it a little less safe for active kids. Staff was incredibly upbeat and friendly. We appreciated the help with our bags going up to the room, and the valet staff was friendly and fast!
