This hotel is small and cute. Perfect for anyone whose solo traveling like myself or with a couple of friend/family. The only issue I had was even though I was given the WiFi code, I had zero connection to anything. My cell signal was terrible too but that’s nothing I can control. Seems like it depends on your room whether you can use it or not and the fridge is stacked with “buy me” drinks leaving zero room if you brought your own stuff. Otherwise the beds, bathroom and overall room itself was fine

The front desk staff were extremely helpful after our room key would not work on our door! The staff helped us pack and change suites. Options were given to us on local restaurants, and we had some delicious pasta and sandwiches for some late night room service. We checked out the next morning. The rooms were comfortable although outdated. The beds were very comfortable. Two TVs were nice for a family. Would stay again!!!

You definitely need to manage your expectations when booking this hotel. PROs: very friendly staff and the property is beautiful on the exterior. Close walking distance to Wrigley Field. Cozy well kept neighborhood. Easy parking. CONs: this is a very old hotel. The carpet is old, the floors creak, rooms exceptionally small and dingy (but appear to be clean). Elevator holds two people with luggage at best so using an old staircase is preferable. There are steps to get down to lobby and this may be cumbersome for someone with baby stroller or for someone needing walking assistance like a walker etc. There is no food service in the hotel but snacks can be purchased from an assortment in your room.

This is located in a very safe and walkable neighborhood. The price I paid per night was quite reasonable for Chicago in prime travel time. Coffee was just a few steps from my door in the morning, my only complaint was the door to my room did not seem secure enough, but it could just be that I am a female traveling with kids. It is an older historic type building, so i know options for adding locks is limited.

I chose this hotel for its location and because it was “family friendly”. I travel with my one year old and the hotel set up was anything but toddler friendly. The suite I reserved looked like a converted apartment with an old bathroom. The area around the tub drain was cracked and peeling, not ideal for a baby taking a bath. The heat was radiator heat. Not safe for a toddler. To enter the hotel you need to go down 6 or so steps. With a toddler and a stroller this was not great. The common room/lobby had tea, water, and popcorn as well as a microwave and a toaster. However there weren’t utensils or plates and rarely napkins. I asked reception for a bowl and some utensils. They had no bowls but they did have plastic spoons and forks.
I requested a pack n play in advance and it was not in my room when I got there so I went back to reception to request it. For a moment it seemed like they didn’t have one for me, but they did after all. However it was old and ripped. There was a milk or other staying under the mat which was gross. They clearly aren’t washed between guests. It also didn’t come with sheets.
The old elevator worked fine but was hardly bigger than my stroller. I had to send my luggage down the elevator and leave my child and his stroller upstairs. Then go back for a 2nd trip.
Other things were odd too. the walls were touched up with different color paint from the wall color, moldy smelling ac, the bed was hard, plywood closing off the under sink area

This hotel is so charming, even my dad was impressed. The theme is very cool and the overall history of the building comes through in every corner. I’ve already recommended it to friends and family.

Our son, daughter in law and grandchildren live in Wrigleyville and we visit several times each year, always staying at The Majestic. The location is ideal, the rooms are well appointed with refrigerators and microwaves, the mattress and pillow are both firm but not uncomfortable, and the linens are good quality. There is 24 hour coffee service in the lobby, fresh baked cookies in the afternoon, and a complimentary continental breakfast. The staff members are wonderful: warm, helpful, and welcoming. The TV in the room is a little smaller than what we have at home, but it was perfectly fine. We wouldn’t think of staying anywhere else.
