We stayed for a concert. The front desk gave us walking directions to the venue and ensured we would be safe walking and not that far for the kids.

Cute bougee Chitown hotel, needs some improvement on some service issues. Would be great with some improvements. Location is good near Lincoln park/Wrigley. Dining little sparse but does have some more trending places like aisan "bowl" type places, infamous The Weiner Circle around the corner, Target/Tjmax/Trader Joes/SB and Stan's Donuts. More close restaurants with family friendly option would be more convenient.
Bathroom in Hotel room needed to be a cleaner (old dirt in corners and hair on floor and corners), only a couple towels so had to ask for more and got a little push back from front desk which was not good. Asked for extra blanket on room phone and got an odd response but when we went down to front desk the staff helped.
Lobby was super cool and art was amazing. The lobby "air freshener" was like Jean Paul Gaultier overload and VERY overwhelming/not pleasant. Only one ice machine on 2nd floor.
The last issue was window latches had to be secured in a few places and the hotel was far from sound proof to the outside noise (emergency vehicles of all kinds throughout the night, reversing trucks beeping at 4 am, honking etc) because the windows were SO thin.
Instructions on unloading luggage in front of hotel, checking in to room then parking would have been nice to know in advance. I had to ask. Parking was too much of a walk with 4 people's stuff. Parking is $30 with front desk validation discount, around corner at Hertz parking lot. Navy Pier 30min drive@7am.

The shower had zero water pressure. And when I say zero I literally had to head out and buy baby wipes.

The décor of the Versey is annoying (garish pop culture nostalgia for baby boomers, of which I am one, and GenX) but so what? It's a block from my mom's assisted living facility, it's quiet, clean, reasonably priced, and the staff leaves you alone to come and go unless you need something, in which case they're super friendly and helpful. You can choose more or less room cleaning service for eco or privacy reasons. The neighborhood is delightful, a nice walk from Lincoln Park, the nature museum, and the zoo, lots of little stores, cafés, and restaurants, good transportation.

My family and I love Hotel Versey. Great food and shopping within walking distance. Staff is always friendly and helpful. My daughter is a student at De Paul University and this is a perfect place to stay for visits.

This is an area where you wont spend much time in the rooms. Which is good. Walls are paper thin, bathrooms are extremely small and overall cleanliness of the rooms is pretty poor. If youre looking literally for just a place to crash, this will suffice. If coming with a family/kids- I would consider other options. Staff is extremely friendly and accommodating though.

The location was perfect for visiting our in-town family for the holiday. The desk staff was excellent. I was disappointed to learn at check-in that housekeeping would only be provided every three days (so we had it the last day we were there), despite the website saying “daily housekeeping.” I also had to ask for my own coffee cup and pod refills every evening since they were not refreshed daily. Overall, a good place to stay in the heart of the Lakeview area.

Disappointing experience. I do not recommend for a family. I would explore other known options nearby next time.

Stayed here because of proximity to Wrigley. It’s walkable in half an hour or so. We reserved a king suite for our family. It had: King bed in a separate bedroom with a door. A very large Main room with a desk, Queen pull out couch, 3 chairs, and a couple of side tables. We requested a rollaway bed which was $20/night extra. All furniture was in reasonable condition but with signs of wear. Carpet was stained. Bathroom is very old and tiny. There’s a small tub with shower, a small sink with an old vanity, and a toilet crammed into a closet sized room. Tile and fixtures are vintage - as in old, and it shows. The tile was broken and patched in places. Cracks in the walls and ancient chrome fixtures. Weak shower stream. There is a mini fridge. No coffee machine, but an espresso machine with 3 pods for 5 people. Lots of windows (dirty, unfortunately), walkable neighborhood with some decent places to eat, grocery, coffee shop, and clothing stores. There were blackout shades which helped us sleep in. Stan’s donuts on the first floor of the same building is amazing, and handy for when you need that coffee.
