The most important thing about sleeping in a hotel is that the mattress should be comfortable. I slept like a baby. The mattress wasn’t too soft or too firm. It was just right. The 2nd most important thing for me is the location. And this hotel is right in the middle of a terrific neighborhood. Great restaurants, boutiques and shopping. Not to mention proximity to the lake and Wrigley Field for sports fans. The front desk staff were friendly and professional, and Esmeralda, the young woman who cleaned our room was the nicest person. We had fresh towels when we needed them and she kept us stocked with coffee pods because we have to have our caffeine before we can leave our room. Not only will we stay here again but we’ll even request the same room. It was so quiet and tucked away. The complimentary breakfast was a nice touch as well! For the price, this hotel is a wonderful value. It could use an update, as far as wallpaper and carpeting is concerned, but the bathroom was really nice. I can’t say enough nice things about this hotel. We’ll be back!

The hotel was dirty and run down. A room with two double beds with one of them being unusable because it was in such bad condition that you would roll off. The refrigerator would almost fall over when we attempted to open the doo. There was no shampoo or body lotion in the bathroom. Walls were paper thin and we could hear the children in the next room. The clerk at the front desk was eating Fritos as she was doing our paperwork. The front entry carpeting was almost completely worn away. The elevator looked like some disgusting liquid had been thrown on the walls. This was by far one of worst hotels we have stayed in. One positive was the location. Nice neighborhood, easy walk to shops and lakefront.

We upgraded to the double king suite to give kids some room to spread out and relax. The upgraded room was comfortable and quiet. We barely, if any, heard any noise from other guests, so definitely worth the upgrade. The neighborhood is nice with many diverse restaurants close by for walking around. Exploring in better weather would be fun. The parking was outdoor parking right next to the hotel. I’ve never been a fan of paying extra for parking at a hotel but if I’m paying it needs to be convenient and dry. This was the biggest downside since it was $33 per night and we had to drag out selected and luggage through snow and slush.

I have a child who goes to college in the area. I typically stay close to campus because it is what I’m familiar with. However, we were enjoying a baseball weekend, so I searched out hotels close to the Cubs stadium. We needed a bigger room because of the number of guests, so I booked a suite. It was perfect! The staff was attentive & the proximity to all that we did was easy and quick! It is most definitely family friendly. The restaurants/shops right outside the hotel were fabulous! The area was lively and fun! We will most definitely stay here again!
