Viceroy Chicago

This is the fourth time we have stayed here and the last. There have been a lot of changes since I was there last. You can no longer get a waitress at the rooftop pool. You can no longer drink by the pool. Seems to have pivoted to service of families with many small children as there were many in the pool. I think it is definitely a place to go if you're a parent traveling with children. It definitely is not a romantic weekend getaway.

The Viceroy is our favorite place to stay when visiting family in Chicago.

Beautifully designed hotel. Truly 5-star service (thank you Omar!). The on-site restaurant Somerset is genuinely one of the best meals in Chicago. We’ll definitely be back and recommend the Viceroy to friends/family.

Beautiful hotel, overall great service. Unfortunately the beds were uneven and lumpy and the pillows were too firm. My kids and I barely slept. The room has unique mini bar offerings, is quite chic but I noticed that for such a new hotel it is starting to look a bit beaten up. Overall atmosphere of hotel and service in the lobby and at front door were quite good. Location can’t be beat either.

A very nice property but… the grand king city view shares a wall with the elevator shaft and was very noisy. Also not a great view but okay. The manager Michael seemed to view us an inconvenience and offered a down grade or an up charge. “Well I could sell the nicer room so I have to charge you…” we accepted the cost and it was a very nice room. Cept it wasn’t serviced w housekeeping. We called. We’re promised and then no housekeeping. Hmmm. Patrick at the roof bar was brilliant. Our guests couldn’t come in with a toddler - fair enough- and he bent over backwards to take care of us and provide super quick room service. Bravo Patrick. Viceroy should promote you to manager!
