I’m truly frustrated with my recent stay at the Sofitel Magnificent Mile located in downtown Chicago. I chose to spend a week there with my family, expecting a 5-star experience for over $300 a night, but what we got was far from it. Honestly, the service felt more like 2 stars. I was extremely disappointed with the cleaning service—they couldn’t even manage to remove a nail from the shower for the entire 5 days of our stay! Arthur at the front desk was helpful, but his Asian colleague was unfortunately rude and indifferent. We had issues with the room not being cleaned until late afternoon, which was inconvenient, so we requested service after 5 PM. Despite this, the front desk ignored our request and sent staff to knock on our door repeatedly, even though the DO NOT DISTURB sign was on. This was incredibly frustrating and left us feeling like our privacy was completely disregarded. To make matters worse, even after the house keeping manager assured us she would address the issues, nothing improved. The nail remained in the shower, and the coffee in the room wasn’t replenished. Given the circumstances, I sincerely hope management takes this situation seriously and considers reimbursing us for our stay. I trust that this feedback will be addressed accordingly.

The crib they offered for our infant was clean and new looking! The beds were heavenly and the water was eco-friendly boxed water. We arrived late and got the rest we needed.

I asked for a crib prior our arrival and it was all set in the bedroom when we arrived. They also offered us to add a micro wave to warm up our baby’s food, and that was exactly what we needed. They were super smiley and nice!

Stayed here numerous times and find it a good value, clean rooms. Because of COVID and limited availability at restaurants it would have been nice if they would have let us eat at outdoor or indoor tables with kids. Were forced to get something to go and tried to eat at one tge tables In the corner. With nobody in either the restaurant or the bar on a Thursday we were asked to leave. Everyone understands hotels trying to make money and using space for their restaurants. With kids and inability to eat most places it would have been a nice gesture just to let us eat and then go up to room.
