Residence Inn Atlanta Downtown by Marriott

Breakfast was acceptable, there was not much variety but the options were basic for all ages. The room was clean, spacious. Functional for a small family vacation. Equipped with the basics and necessities if you don't want to spend a lot of money eating out. The security of the place is quite good, you can only access the place and move inside if you are a guest.

We have been using this hotel whenever we visit ATL. For our purpose & budget, it is a nice place (downtown & close to our family). YET, it IS NOT perfectly convenient IF you don't have a car access.

We loved our stay here. The staff was phenomenal. The only sketchy thing was around the property was a lot of homeless folks hanging around. Homelessness is not a crime but they were a lot more aggressive than I'm used to. Being a female traveling alone with kids, it was a little scary. Not of this is the hotel's fault at all. It is what it is.

We stayed for 3 nights, including a toddler, in 2 suites, in May. Pros: -Location: 1 block away from Marta train (to/from Airport). 8 min walk to Olympic Park and 10 min walk to Aquarium. -Complimentary hot breakfast -Beds are comfortable (softness to my liking) Cons: -Area is shady, lots of homeless people and reeks of urine. We felt unsafe walking around after dark. -Almost ALL restaurants in the radius closes at 5pm, very hard to find dining during lunch and/or dinner. We ended up had to Grubhub to the hotel. -Service: Both of our rooms were missing essential items: only 2 bath towels, body wash & conditioner bottles were empty, only 1 coffee cups, & no plastic cups for brushing teeth. No room services and/or pick up trash. -Bathtub: gets very very very slippery after putting on soap. My 3 year old toddler fell in the tub, and I almost fell too but grab on to the curtain. Overall, the stay was ok but I probably wouldn't return again.

Tried to cancel reservation since this hotel is not in a safe area for families after being told from several people. The property would not refund our stay.

I didn't appreciate the lack off his keeping service being done every 3 days even though We stayed 2, Not enough variety for Breakfast, lack of fruits ect..I will not recommend this hotel to my friends or family.

Staff was very friendly, the fire alarm went off so the elevators were down. I was able to walk up 12 flights of stairs but felt bad for kids & older people.

Overall great stay with our family. It was close to everything downtown and the customer service was very nice
