Shell Beach Inn

The Inn was a small, nice, and comfortable spot for our family during a travel basketball tournament. It was just a walk away from a nice scenic park with an overlook of the ocean. We would stay here again.

The price is very affordable. Shell beach inn is very beautiful and well kept. Bounus was the walkable distance to the amazing beach views and to the park for the kiddos. Absolutely would recommend and revisit in the future.

A nice place to stay, and would stay there again. Sadly, the closest beach access is closed (has been since a storm damaged it a few years ago per sign), but that’s not the inn’s fault or a big deal. Zorro’s just a short walk away was very good, and there’s a convenience store next door for things like milk for the kids. Hot springs are nearby, and we generally just had a nice time and wished we’d planned more than a day in the area.

We stayed in the suite which was very spacious even for a family of four. The room is right next to a busy road, so unfortunately we couldn’t open the windows due to the noise. But with the fans and A/C running you couldn’t hear it. We would definitely stay again.

Cute and clean little cottage feel rooms. Highly recommend for couples and small families. Will stay again.

Stayed with my family. There’s a park within walking distance, two coffee shops and a liquor shop & grocery store nearby. The neighborhood is charming and convenient for taking my toddler around. The view of the ocean doesn’t hurt either. Would stop by again

The beauty is in the details and something you must experience yourself! I had the pleasure of working with a phenomenal Hostess named Sara. She is kind, attentive, and intoxicatingly sweet. Someone you want to just keep talking to! I was given all the amenities as promised and more (thank you!) Additionally the rooms are beyond tidy and exceeded my expectations along with the housekeeper who feels more like family ensuring you are fully stocked and taken care of daily. The location is wonderfully located near great food options, a corner store that can help you with one-off items and provisions and just a 3-5 minute walk to the buffs/vistas that Pismo has to offer! If you dont mind walking I recommend visiting the pier. Its a brisk 30 minute walk each way but keeps you honest and healthy!

Only had two nights. We have grand baby twins a few blocks away. It was a bit cool for the pool but it seemed nice. Everything was very clean and comfortable except for the construction noise at 8am from a few houses away the first morning. Everyone associated with the operation was very friendly and helpful.

The property was very clean and the front desk staff was very welcoming. The ambiance in the pool area was great. For being such a small property it was set up where there was individual sitting areas that one could enjoy a cup of coffee or a drink by the pool. The staff went out of their way to make it comfortable and show us to our room, even let us borrow a bucket and shovel to take to the beach for our kids. This was truly one of the places I felt at home because of the comfort and design of the rooms. This will be our go to from now on when visiting the Pismo Beach area.

Terrible! I know what boutique inn means but this was awful. The sink was clogged (it would take a minimum of 45 minutes for the water to go down), there was an extremely dirty sponge that stunk up the whole place. A sponge is not that expensive, this place needs to offer a new sponge for each stay. There's no ice machine, it's provided by staff in a water cooler - why would anyone trust that? Who knows how that's cleaned and where the ice is coming from! There are three bowls and ALL 3 bowls were dirty and it's not like I had a new sponge to wash them. How are they still in business? No sanitary measures! Most important to me was maid service and I even called before arrival to confirm the procedure and then again when I was there. As directed, I left the maid service magnet on the door when I left and of course the room was not cleaned!!! This was the most important factor to me which is why I called and asked about it! I went for two weeknights when kids are back in school and based on the parking lot there was a total of four guests and they still couldn't accommodate me! But of course the morning I was supposed to check out, housekeeping knocks at 10am to see if I've gone, so needless to say I wouldn't stay here again and never recommend to anyone. Unfortunately this place is woman owned so I know I won't even be offered a partial refund for this inconvenience and incompetence on their part. Just don't stay there please, there are HUNDREDS of other places there!
