Breakfast was good, but it was so hot very hard to be down there getting settled with kids.

The hotel itself was WONDERFUL, but was located in the “Tenderloin District”. If you left by the correct door and headed in one direction you were ok and the exposure to dirty, unsafe activities was limited. If you headed out the wrong door of the hotel or headed in the other direction you witnessed many things that were not family like. Drug use, human feces on sidewalk, naked people (literally a woman with no pants/underwear on), hypodermic needles on sidewalk, etc. I feel horrible leaving this review as the hotel and staff were WONDERFUL and it is located close to public transportation. It was clean and a wonderful stay, but the shock on our first night put me in an uneasy state as we were staying with our 2 children. I wish I had a heads up prior to staying here. Luckily we returned the rental car as parking is expensive and we saw a car window smashed out of someone who parked overnight in free spaces close to the hotel. Disappointed as the hotel was great, but not sure that I would stay there again due to other external issues.

The inside was fairly standard of what you’d expect for a Hampton. However, outside the property you need to walk through several blocks of homeless encampments, which other comparable parts of the city don’t have. We opted to drive this section, since we have young kids.

Area downtown so unsafe for families and pets. Changed hotels due to all the people doing drugs on the sidewalk. Better to Uber to locations instead of central location.

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend this property to others. Several guest including myself felt unsafe in the area in which this hotel is located. They overprice the VIP parking due to the large homeless population in this area (supply and demand I guess). Although this area has an attendant there’s still several homeless people sleeping within the car lot - which makes one think if the cars are even safe to be in there. It feels unsafe to be around the area at anytime of the day because of the constant watching over your backs on the homeless people. The elevators were constantly smelling like different scents. The breakfast was not pleasant- we only had breakfast here one day and it was not worth it. We had to leave earlier due to a family emergency and we weren’t able to get a refund or credit for the night that we didn’t use. I understand it’s a policy, but there should be some type or credit or compensation if it was due to something that’s out of ones control.

Called before to ask about pet policy and was told there was no extra charge, as soon as we arrived Anna told us there was a $75 charge per night and moved us to a different room , much smaller than what we had. Elevators took so long to arrive every time, one of the times elevators stopped working for about 30 mins. We had to take the stairs down from 5th floor not the most ideal for a 8 month pregnant woman with a toddler. Valet parking associate Othman was outside smoking weed while we were waiting for him to give him the keys to the car. Customer service is obviously not their priority. Area is terrible so many homeless people all around, I know it’s not the hotels problem but it doesn’t feel safe at all.

The area is terrible and had too many weirdos and crackheads literally hanging around the front doors of the hotel and the staff some Asian guy there is not the friendliest and can have bad attitude and the room was way too small for the price it’s so tiny you could barely walk around the bed it’s that cramped up and there was no mini fridge or microwave either which was a huge inconvenience for our little family. Even the cheapest hotels I been too usually have a microwave and fridge so that’s why we decided to go to a Best Western the next night and what a huge difference the staff was so nice and our room was way nicer and bigger and even had a mini fridge too so I highly recommend a different hotel because this one is not worth the money at all. The only thing we did love was the roof top terrace but other than that it’s not even worth it.

Cancelled after the first night. Would not issue a refund. As travellers from Canada this was an awful experience kids were scared. Dirty don’t not stay here.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room felt dustier than average and the mirror had lipstick or something like it smudged on it. I didn't realized that the area the hotel was in has so many homeless people and has pretty dirty streets and a rundown look. I had my kids with me and walking around with them felt less safe than I would have preferred.

I made several request for cancelling my Reservation as I had stay with my family. But they didn’t consider my request. Also gave me a room where the AC was not working properly.
Parking was not included because I booked from Expedia. Please book directly on the website.
But apart from that Staff was good. Good breakfast. valet service was good and fast.
