Hotel was clean and comfortable; we loved the fire pits at night. The view was beautiful, and my kids loved the kayaks. The area is nice with lots to do, very close to Legoland and not a bad drive to the San Diego Zoo. We would definitely stay again.

Pros:
Cute little lake area. Great for couples and families.
Food and service at Amalfi was amazing.
Jake at the front desk was very friendly and willing to help.
Dog friendly.
The live music was fun and entertaining.
Great that water sports are onsite and somewhat included. They are very strict on giving you your “included” daily activities and try to charge instead.
Fire pits and smores galore - love!
Cons:
Lake water is entirely brown.
Residents on the lake have hateful flags up, seems like pretty politically charged and angry residents here.
It’s a man made lake in the middle of a bustling city, it’s not exactly a wilderness getaway.
We were totally upsold on paying an extra $400 for a lakefront cabin. We weren’t told it was HA…my boyfriend literally couldn’t fit under the shower. The room smelled like must so we called asking for more candles which helped.
Went to shower at night and found out the hot water wasn’t working. Maintenance spent the entire next day on our patio with tools and equipment everywhere replacing the water heater and we were now offered another room.
The carpeting in the bedroom smelled like pee and the bedroom door was completely off track.
In a nutshell - don’t get upsold, don’t be surprised by the pure brown water and residents on the lake, bring some febreeze and your patience :)

Had a great time. Patio to pool perfect . Came with my family and my special needs son who is an adult. Easy access to pool out of sliding door. Kept him entertained. Would book again.

Overall the resort was amazing, beds and pillows comfortable, staff friendly at check in and at the pool bar, food was good quality and well priced, facilities were really nice and well kept, pools awesome just not very warm, hot tubs needed to be cleaned better, only negatives is the noise from above from guests kids jumping and running so abit paper thin floors, tv didn’t work, in room phone didn’t work, had to ask for linen and towels as not enough in the room for the amount of people in our family.

My family enjoyed a nice and relaxing few days on the property. They have 2 pools to choose from that were big enough to entertain my 2 energetic kids. We tried Brickmans twice and their food was really good. Room service was fast with great options. I wish brunch was offered on weekdays too but not many restaurants do that. Either way, many other restaurants are within easy driving distance.
The rooms were very clean. I loved their bathrobes and I’m currently on the hunt to purchase a similar one. They offer little packets of s'mores that you can take with you to the fire pits at night. We loved everything about this place.

My expectations were not met. What gives value to the property was the small lake which didn't seem to have much activity going. For the most part the golf course seems to have the most action and a restaurant which is not part of the property. It’s just a regular hotel with a swimming pool area for kids. Amenities are not worth the money charged on top of the money paid for booking and there is no way around it.

They offer kayak, paddle board and 1 hour free range of golf. It’s very unique of this hotel to have these kinds of amenities included. They also offer 3 large pools, fire pits for your s’more and so much more. Staff were very nice and accommodating. This is a great hotel especially for family. And the price is amazingly reasonable. I found my go to hotel whenever I’m in San Diego. Score

It was a beautiful property and we did enjoy our stay. I loved the complimentary s’mores. The pool was nice and clean and they offered warm towels. I do wish the pool was a little heated. I did like the amenities the property offered like the golf and kayaking. What I didn’t like is that we upgraded our room and there were lots of dead bugs on the ceiling and they seemed to have been killed and squashed, and just left there instead of cleaned off. Also on the balcony there were lots of spider webs. And they had me sign at check in if I wanted housekeeping and to put an X if I didn’t, to which I did not decline, I wanted housekeeping I like having the trash taken out and clean towels. I never got any housekeeping just on the last day I felt like they were rushing me out. Besides that the property was a nice stay and my family enjoyed it. It was a view from the balcony.

Place is really great for families with young children. The lake has activities, restaurant and bar and the staff is so great. First time and was very impressed. Multiple pool and spa options and serene view of the surrounding hills.
Outdoor beds get filled quickly but everyone was so friendly to eachother and looking out.
My only complaint are the length of the s'mores sticks. Way too short for kids to be holding near fire.
