Our first night we were woke up at 2 am by a couple having sex very loudly for over a hour. Then the same woke us up at 8am. We were travelling with my teen daughter and this mortified me. We requested to move to a different room which the front desk helped us with. Our new room was quieter but didn't have working televisions. The front desk gave us complimentary parking in lieu of no televisions. At 1000 pm on night two we had to call 911 because there was a civil dispute in the house behind the hotel with yelling, cussing, and loud crying. For paying $750 USD for two nights, the value was not worth the money. I definitely would not feel safe with my young children at night around this property. It is about 15 minutes walk to the beach, 30 mins walk to Venice boardwalk, and eateries close by.

Travelled with family and booked multiple rooms mid-week. Not crowded and easy to find. We especially loved that there was a parking garage and security (always staff in lobby and throughout the hotel). The mini suites had extra space for our babies to play. The room was primarily clean though we came across a screw on the floor. Overall it was in good condition. We were impressed by the updated bathrooms & room designs. AC was not working in one of the rooms so it needed switching out. We had hoped to stay close together, so that was our only complaint. Otherwise, nice walkability to breakfast, coffee, and restaurants.
Staff and service were excellent. They were kind, responsive, welcoming, and accommodating! Made for a smooth stay for our family. No microwaves in the room- just in the lobby. Adorable patio to hang out and eat, along with hammocks. Just a short 5 min drive to Marina del rey harbor. They also have cute bikes to rent out. Would stay here again.

I brought my wife and two kids here for 3 nights and it turned out great. The Kinney cares about cleanliness and the rooms are nice. Parking is very convenient. The only hiccup that we didn’t even bring up as it wasn’t a huge deal is we booked a room that had a door to the bedroom (as reflected on Expedia). Our room did not have a door.
The Hot Tub and pool area is small, but as long as you are flexible or not shy for when you want to swim/hot tub it’s a nice pool area with music playing.
If we come back to stay in the area, we will book with them again!

I really liked this place. It has a fun upbeat vibe. The beds were comfy, the rooms were clean. The pool and hot tub were a great bonus. Ask for a room on the third floor away from the activities if you have kids. I was by myself and didn't mind the extra noise at all, but if you have little ones with you it would be a good idea to have some quiet. I plan on going back next year as well! Also staff was super friendly and helpful.

I took my wife and two kids to spend the weekend in LA. We rented a room at your hotel had no problems stay was pretty good. The only problem was which was a problem. The first night was good. They did not clean our room the first night we let it go cause we really were OK for one more day the next day again, a room was not cleaned talk to the people at the front desk. They look at all reports. All report shows that our room was missed our room was not on any employees report expected to get a better deal because of this only got free parking was disappointed. Was hoping for at least one night free other than that stay was OK.

We stayed in a king suite and the room was a great size for our family of three. The bed was very comfortable. The only drawbacks were the room's carpet and bathroom, a little past their due date. The staff is super helpful and kind. We'd stay again.

I have stayed at this property for several years and I have watched it transform from inexpensive family hotel with free breakfast to hipster infused sort of stylish boutique and party place for younger adults. You can’t beat the location and the price if you want to be close to Venice.
For the first time I stayed in an exterior room facing Washington and the street noise woke me up several times at night with the windows closed and the drapes drawn. Not to mention the doors slamming is really loud.
No fault of the hotel, but there are people suffering homelessness that live out of vans and RVs that park up and down Washington in front of and around the hotel.
Unfortunately the guy that has taken up residence in front of the hotel has a mental health issue and he was verbally abusive as people walked by. Not a great environment for families and probably not super safe if he or someone else got escalated.
The hotel is decent, and the staff were very friendly, but I will probably pay the extra $50 per night and stay in the Marina or in Santa Monica…

No hair dryer in the room and the noise from kids outside our room at 8:00 am was very annoying. They were loud playing on the hammocks . The lighting in the bathroom was HORRIBLE. I couldn’t even see while putting makeup
