Lovely hotel right in the centre of York. Such good value for money. Lovely bar/ restaurant area catering for both couples and families. Room was spotless and tasteful, and most importantly, well insulted so no noise.

We were put is a Handicapped/differently able room because we requested twin beds. It was stated to be a family suite. There were hooks in the wall that were 6 ft or more high (no one in a wheel chair could ever been able to reach them. No bathroom door hook for a robe or towel. Very limited space for toiletries in bathroom. A banana peeling was left in our garbage can (scent in the room). The electrical kettle and cups were located on a very low table (good if wheel chair room, dangerous if small children in room. Sofa bed was not comfortable- very thin mattress. Check in staff were friendly and helpful. Location was near a variety of restaurants / Pubs and walk to and from was safe for walking. The hotel is a “no cash”. Credit card only. I would not stay again with this chain.

The service was great, the staff were friendly and welcoming, ai paid for a little surprise for my husband and we had balloons and a message on the mirror for our wedding anniversary - great touch. The bar is quirky with a great selection of drinks and some food (we didnt sample the food or breakfast so i cannot comment, but it looked great) The location is fabtastic with all main attractions within walking distance (up to 10 minutes) and about 15 minute walk from the train station. In general, our stay was great and comfortable. Our only issue was the loaction of our room. We found the temperature very hot and we didnt manage to change the heating so we opened the window. Due to the location of our room we were above the beer garden so we had a bit of noise and a light wiff of smoke coming from those guests into our room. (This is only a bit of feedback more than anything and future guests who would be bothered by this could request a room away from the beer garden) This has not put us off staying in Moxy again or other Moxys as it was great for the price and a fantastic atmosphere without it being too loud. Would recomemnd to family and friends visiting.

I was in a family weekend for a hen party. The hotel accommodates us as a group, welcomed our plans as we had fancy dress on one of the days and the staff were friendly and helpful. I will be booking and staying again. Only downside was the pillows, they weren’t supportive enough for myself, but no complaints at all, had a great stay.

A different sort of hotel. Spotless, minimalist, good service, responsive staff, walkable from all of central York. Cannot wait to go back.. I can’t say that of many other hotels. As an OAP, travelling with my wife and two undergrad grandchildren, I was delighted with it all.

Hotel had a fun and different vibe. Could be good or not depending on your outlook. Seemed family friendly. Bed wasn’t changed in our 3 nights there which was kind of disappointing. Also the Moxie sign, which appeared as though it should be lighted, made the hotel hard to recognize. Room needs more towel racks, hooks or something in the bathroom.

I really like the hotel because it was pretty convenient to all the places I wanted to visit while in York. I was traveling with my kids and family room was very comfortable for a family of three or even four. Very happy with my staying at the Moxy.
