Hampton by Hilton York Piccadilly

Clean Hotel with friendly staff. Breakfast was good. Struggled to get a table at times.The sofa bed in the family room is really uncomfortable. Very hard with no proper mattress and only one pillow.

The hotel is ideally situated for all shops and bars/restaurants. Booking in was a doddle and the reception team were polite and professional. The room itself was clean and had what we needed as a family. It overlooked the city centre and part of the terrace. The only niggle from us are, that the two beds were not very comfortable, especially my daughters who sleeps like a baby normally but she struggled, both mattresses were hard along with the pillows. Impressed with sound proofing as we never heard anyone either in their rooms or walking pass the door! Regards breakfast which is 7-11am had a good choice from difffrent cereals to hot food which was cooked well, plenty of fruit and pastries! There was even a waffle maker although never used it. Lots of juice and machines for coffee etc. We had a lovely time and the hotel is worth booking if you are thinking of staying in York.

The hotel was very nice & in excellent location I would recommend it to family & friends & would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hampton by Hilton. The hotel was very close by to anything and everything we wanted to visit and our room was modern and lovely. Breakfast was better than expected and the fresh waffle maker really won my heart! The staff were all very welcoming and accommodating, including ensuring our room had a cot bed for our little toddler (even though she found the main bed more comfortable!). The only downside was that the sliding door for the bathroom was broken, so it took some heavy lifting to open/close the door each time we wanted to use the bathroom!

The hotel was good and the rooms were clean but small, size wise. Says Parking is available but was off site and about ( 8 minutes walk ) which is quite some distance when we have to carry luggage and baby accessories and not to mention expensive which is £31 but the hotel does supply a 20% discount for staying with them.

We stayed for a family trip to york for my grandkids birthday. Everywhere was clean, furniture was well kept and extremely comfortable.so much so it helped my aching bones to recover. The seats were meltingly comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was beautiful, a massive fan of the beds, I wish I could of taken it home.Breakfast was amazing. Definitely sets you up for your long day ahead. I'm a IHG superfan. 😊 P.s I'd of liked to of uploaded some photos, my phone's not liking the upload button today 😒.

Great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room and good breakfast. High chairs for my toddler. Close to all the major sites. Two things that can be improved: parking information prior to arrival and room cleanliness (it was fine but details like hair in the bathroom and dust under the bed are a bit icky). However, overall stay was pleasant - would definitely return.

Everything was as good as I expected. A clean and bright hotel with friendly staff. Excellent for our family trip to the city. The hotel also provided a basic buffet breakfast, self made waffle with the highlight for my child.

Warm and friendly welcome. Check in was easy & we were given a useful map and instructions to get to the affiliated car park mentioned when booking that attracted a discounted rate. The car park is a good 5-10 min walk from the hotel so something to consider with children, large amounts of luggage, wheelchairs, buggies etc. Room was lovely, bright and clean with everything we needed. Breakfast was lovely, we did hit peak time (circa 9.15am) so we did have to go back and forth a few times to get all the items we wanted, but staff were working hard to get items restocked. Good selection of hot & cold breakfast items. Hotel had a modern design and look to it, rooms were very comfortable and eating area was certainly nicer than a lot of places I've stayed. Felt very warm and welcoming.
