The family and I have no complaints, the suite was very spacious, well equipped and clean. All necessities were present. I’ve enjoyed the breakfast as it has everything you need, This was more than adequate.

The family room was perfect for traveling with an infant. We were able to put him to bed in the bedroom and still enjoy our evening in the living room. I would book this room again traveling with a baby in a crib.

Attentive staff and lovely room. Although on Expedia I booked a standard room with a toddler bed but at the hotel they can not cater for a toddler bed in a standard room so we were forced to upgrade which was a bit annoying and then to pay an extra £30 a night for the bed

This was a lovely hotel and would definitely book again if we were coming to York. Just a short walk from the city centre. Staff were great and always happy to help. We had a baby with us and were worried the room would be cramped with the cot and her pram, but the rooms (club double) were so spacious and the bed and pillows were so comfortable that I wished we were staying longer!! Sora sky bar and the gym were great as well.

The position of the hotel was excellent. We were in close walking distance of all of the shops, restaurants and attractions so we didn't use our car at all. The city is beautiful to walk around with so much to see and do. The hotel staff were all very kind and helpful and the hotel itself had everything we could possibly need. A great dog friendly hotel would highly recommend to friends and family.

Very lovely hotel which is very close to the main centre but not too close that it is loud at night. Check in was at 3pm and there was a slight queue when we got there just after 3pm but I wasn’t queuing for long before we had our room keycard. The room was very tidy. I did notice the bathroom sink was pretty blocked and when I look the plug hole looked pretty gammy! The light on the vanity mirror next to sink also didn’t work. Didn’t upset me enough to say anything to reception though as the rest of the room was perfect. We had pre booked an evening meal at the Brasserie which was incredible and before dinner we went up to Sora who was able to seat us without a booking although I would advise you book. We only nipped in for a cocktail before we ate. We skipped dessert with plans to order room service later that evening. We ordered a dessert each and a drink each. The desserts came quickly and I was told the drink would be up shortly, however, after 30-45 minutes, had to chase the drinks. They said they would be free however I had already paid for them but again not a big deal. None of my complaints were enough to take away from what is a fantastic hotel. We have plans to visit again with the children and will certainly be looking for space at Malmaison.

We stayed for 5N in a spacious Club Deluxe Room and in many ways this was ideal for our purposes. We were catching up with many friends and family and the 44m2 room as well as the hotel's facilities enabled this to be done effortlessly. We also held a small gathering at the rooftop Sora Bar which was ideal and well organised by the hotel's events team on our behalf. The hotel describes itself as eclectic, which is true as the hotel, rooms and decor have a modern, functional and inviting vibe to them. The main drawback we felt is that this self-styled eclectic nature meant that whilst some staff were fantastic others were too casual and irreverant. Cleaning of the room was particularly casual and haphazard. For example, the extensive carpet was not vacuumed on more than one occasion when it clearly should have been. They had to be called back to finish the job. Just because a hotel is 'committed' to being eco-friendly is NOT an excuse to do the minimal servicing of a room, especially at this price. In addition, some Sora bar staff, but not all, appeared to be in their own world at times.

Lovely stay, family room was absolutely fab. Couple of small things, local parking is expensive and closed until 6am which didn’t work for us with a very early start.

Lovely comfortable, well-planned room, with a gorgeous view of the Minster in the sunlight. It made a good base for our weekend meeting with family and seeing some of the sights. Very nice breakfast with a good range of options. Staff were helpful and friendly
