Brilliant time in a brilliant hotel. Knew it was gonna be good when they upgraded us to a junior suite. The room facilities were excellent, the breakfast was amazing and the cleanliness was excellent too. Well done on all counts.

We stayed in a family room and for £200 a night I expected a more superior room. The room was tired, carpets grubby, and a lovely view of the roof and car park. 3* at the very best. A lot of money considering the kids were on a sofa bed, which we had to ask twice for room service to make up!! Breakfast was decent enough and the lobby area has been modernised. Pool was OK.

We arrived at 4 pm to be informed our room wasn’t ready, we questioned this as we should have been able to book in at 3pm. The receptionist apologised and offered to put us in a twin room or wait 30 mins. We waited. About 10 mins later the receptionist came over and said she had upgraded us, given us free parking and 2 free drinks at the bar. The room was a family room, nice and warm and clean. The on site health spa is also very nice with a warm swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The bar was quiet in the evening but we enjoyed the complimentary drink. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, no organisation with guests getting frustrated, mainly due to the positioning of the toast machine. Apart from that a pleasant stay

I booked a family room for 3 people and therefore had an extra bed added into what would be a room for 2 people. Unfortunately, this was not reflected in the room. There were only 2 cups and provisions for tea / coffee, 2 bottles of water, 2 sets of towels etc. I tried to call reception on the room telephone to request these items however it constantly rang out. I called the normal number which rang out until I finally got though. Staff brought up what I thought was another set of towels which I took into the shower only to find once I was wet that it was a pile of small hand towels. Other than this lack of attention to the detail that the room was booked for 3 the stay was very nice.

The hotel was lovely the staff friendly and welcoming. Comfortable rooms lovely size with a huge bed, the only fault with the room was the air con got a bit noisy in the night, we had to turn it off then it got a bit too warm. We would of liked to have used the spa and got some treatments but these are booked up months in advance, was a bit disappointing as this trip was a spur of the moment child free night away. Overall lovely stay and breakfast, would stay again.

Having to pay for onsite parking was unacceptable. No fridge in room or complimentary biscuits, no bottled water for sale in the bar area. Breakfast buffet was very unorganised, messy tables and food just luke warm. The automatic entrance doors into the building often didn’t work. The hotel reception area was lovely, the bedroom and bathroom we’re very nice, hotel seemed to be short of staff a lot of the time. The cleaning staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms very clean. The spa insisted you had a pound coin to use the lockers ( not everyone carries coins on their person) this should be changed and hotel guests should be given a pound sized token to use the lockers. I was told by the spa receptionist that they would lend us a pound coin... one to share for myself and my male partner so we had to get changed in the family changing room with no lockers.. then I had to take our clothes into the ladies changing room lockers (as we only had one coin) then after swimming we had to go into separate changing rooms to get dried and dressed but his clothes were in my locker so I had to meet him in the corridor to give him his clothes ... it was all a bit badly run, not like the usual 4* hotels we stay in. Very disappointed and expected better treatment for the price we paid.
