My daughter and I stayed here whilst on a short trip to visit the University. I'd already exchanged emails with Anna at the hotel and she'd been really helpful and super lovely. When we arrived, we were greeted and shown to our room. Room was lovely and clean, a nice size for the two of us and the beds were comfy. The breakfast room was lovely- laid out with a good choice of items to help ourselves too and then we had a menu to choose our hot options (we both had a lovely Full English) There is a restaurant in the grounds of the hotel- we had a drink there in the evening but no food as we were still full from our lunch. We'd definitely eat there if we went back again. The chap behind the bar was lovely and friendly and chatted to us a while about the city and the area etc. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk into town and actually quite a pleasant walk. If my daughter chooses Durham University then this is definitely where me and the family will stay when we visit.

Amazing place to stay, quirky and just so lovely, we stayed on honeymoon in the tower with separate shower room. Again just amazing, the room was lush too. A lo Ely restaurant next door was equally amazing with a retro Indian feel. The staff were very friendly and we will be taking out children there in the future.

We felt very welcome from the first moment we stepped into the door, the friendliness and informality of the guest house made is extra speacial for us as a family. The extra little bits for the dog and kids made it a more personal stay and meant that the kids felt very comfortable. The discount to the restaurant and cocktails was an extra perk too which helped to make the whole experience a positive one. Overall excellent customer service and a touch of personality to our stay. Thank you x
