The lady at reception was lovely. My 5 year old daughter said she was like honey she was so nice! The room was a good size, ammenities are limited, basic tea and coffee. Dinner was nice but a tad pricey. My only complaints hotel related were that the TV in our room didn't work, it came on but was just constant static. The only other issue was noisy neighbours. Not the hotels fault but I don't think the hotel was full so not sure why they pack people in. They were pretty rowdy up until 10:30ish. People were also noisy, banging doors etc outside around 7 in the morning. Worth noting that if you're travelling with kids the pool is only available at certain times.

Lovely stay, very welcoming and was delighted to discover we had been provided with an upgrade to a junior suite.
This is our second visit and sure we will return. We like Chester and this hotel is well located for the centre and shopping etc.

Excellent overnight stay with the family. Used the pool facilities, played outside in the garden and the room was great.

The upgrade to a junior suite was a waste of money.
The room was in poor condition - room 5.
The carpets were stained; the sink was cracked; as was the shower tray. The shower had missing grout and was in poor condition.
Generally the room was old and in need of a refurbishment.
The room was not serviced properly - bed not made and toilet rolls not restocked.
The only good thing was the sheets and towels were clean.
The he breakfast was poor and not in any way geared for a healthy lifestyle. A real lack of options and no natural yoghurt or fresh berries.
Staff were friendly.
Gym was good.
Other than those few redeeming features, this hotel needs a complete overall.

Lots of point to make here:
1. The building is falling apart
2. Hardly any staff around at all
3. The spa facilities were okay but someone had spat all over the sauna and it was really unclean
4. The male member of staff was drooling over my wife the entire time she was in the spa
5. The room and bathroom was filthy; cobwebs, stains, dead bugs splatted on the walls
6. No water pressure in the shower
7. We didn’t sleep all night because of house ridiculously noisy it was - staff on reception shouting at 3am
8. The swimming pool is used for kids lessons so make sure you check when you go
Stayed here before (about 4 years ago) and it wasn’t this bad. Not the break we expected.

It is a lovely looking property on the outskirts of Chester, 15 mins from Chester, Cheshire Oaks/Ellesmere Port. Plenty of free parking on site. Room and bathroom were large and staff were really friendly and helpful.
Has spa with good size pool, jacuzzi, steam room and small sauna, extra treatments and gym. Towels are free but guests have to pay for bathrobes.
Room not ready on arrival (after check in time), wedding at the hotel overnight which closed the main bar to other residents, leaving the ‘small bar’ to serve the residents (approx 20 ft by 20ft with one table and a few chairs). No availability in restaurant between 18:20 and 20:45. Spa was very busy on Friday afternoon with parents and children, and water in jacuzzi was a bit cloudy.
Once issues raised with hotel mgmt, we secured a place in the restaurant at 19:00 and a free drink. Other staff were really friendly. Room was big but only one easy chair and desk chair. Would be nice to have more furniture.
Did not have the feel of a quality hotel.

Lovely hotel tucked away. Fantastic on-site pool, sauna, steam room and jacuzzi (although not working during my stay). Good equipped gym. The hotel is a little
Bit tired in places but this is an old building so have to take that onboard. The room was lovely and clean, again a little tired but overall was nice. Really big bathroom . Cleaned daily to a high standard. The room was a little on the cold side but asked for an additional heater and it was given straight away.
My only gripe was the guests lack of respect for other guests, 2nd night seemed like a party was going off in a room close by as loud music playing and lots of shouting and the 3rd night guests allowing their children to run up and down the corridors and screaming at each other. Not really acceptable at any time but at 10.15pm
Really should show some respect.
