My daughter and I stayed at the Hotel to visit my granddaughter who is a student in Chester. I booked a twin room but were given a family room which was lovely and had plenty of space. Would definitely stay there again.

We chose the hotel as it is close to family that we were visiting. We have stayed in the hotel a couple of times previously (pre covid) I was disappointed to find the room we had been allocated whilst clean had not been freshened up since our last visit. The furnishings were old and quite tatty. The bed sank in the middle and was quite uncomfortable. It was however quiet, the TV worked as did the kettle and the tea/coffee & biscuits were replenished regularly. I found it frustrating that there were no bedside lights and you either had to have the lights on or off. The breakfast staff were lovely but I was sorry that they had to serve the most dreadful coffee I have tasted. I think it had been brewing since Christmas! The breakfast was however plentiful and you certainly did not need to walk away hungry. The restaurant is so beautifully appointed I just feel that it really needs some investment.

Hotel was very convenient, only 10 minute walk into the centre of town. Swimming pool was a bonus although lockable lockers should have available. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. The room and bed were good. Only issue being some left over litter from previous guest. All told we intend tk use ghis hotel on future breaks to Chester and will de recommending to family and friends.

This was the perfect choice for us after completing the 3 peaks challenge, we were dropped off at the train station 5 minute walk away at 10am and understandable not being allowed to check in until 3pm we were allowed to make use of the Spa facilities which was a treat for our tired bodies. The room and bathroom were comfortable for my needs though being a solo traveller I randomly had a family room with king size and two singles. The staff were really nice throughout the hotel, spa and bar area, and when checking in was told the breakfast times but I had an early train I had to catch offered to make me up something which was nice. Location is great to get around and see the beautiful city. The two negatives things that stand out for me was the jacuzzi whilst hot didn’t pump bubbles, minor I know and I was awoken 25 minutes earlier than my alarm as the room above we walking about and the floor creaking but didn’t take away from my overall stay.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Our room was a family room but small even for just the two of us, bathroom was very small and not much room to hang clothes, no draws either which i found unusual. The worst thing for me was the fact that there were no pillow protectors on any of the pillows and i think this is a must in these times and not something that you should have to ask for. Breakfasts were basic but lovely.

Good location - easy walk in to Chester city centre - only a couple of minutes. Parking was good. We had a canal view room and it benefited from a big window - I would recommend. Only downside was we visited in the Easter holidays and the spa was full of young children and quite noisy
