Tryp by Wyndham Mayaguez

I had planned a Father’s Day trip to celebrate with my family since they love Mayaguez unfortunately that didn’t happened since I have to cancel my reservation due to the room I was assigned to got flooded with 1 inch of water found a surprise visitor a salamander. When I went to the front desk at 11:11 the response from incompetent staff was that he could mop the floor, put some towels and try to fin the salamander. I told him if they were available rooms he said no it was at full capacity but guests kept checking in at that time which he assigned them available rooms. He didn’t even offer to look for rooms on other hotel for us to stay just we can give you a refund and you find where to stay, I live in San Juan it was almost 12 am, what kind of response is that. Clearly they didn’t care since this is not the first time this has happened with other guests if you look across reviews you will find people that have stayed in 2023 that had the same issue, as well is not the most clean hotel. I highly recommend you don’t stay here they’re better hotels with good staff service and infrastructure is in optimal condition.

The family room was spacious. The bunk bed was a win with our 5 yr old and still had plenty of room for a playpen

New hotel. Surprisinlytiny full bed. Small spaces!, imposible to walk without bumping into each another. everything is small and minimalist. But worse, do not expect to rest in the tiny bed, the pool is exactly facing the rooms in a courtyard and you can hear every word and scream of children and adults from 8:30 am until 9 pm. Impossible to rest !!!!!

I have stayed in the one in Isla Verde and I thought it would be the same but what a surprise no it is not. The hotel is indoor outdoor which the pool is outdoor but it echos all the way to the rooms so if you want to sleep and there is a party in the pool area you will not be able to rest. I was on the 5 th floor and I could still hear all the noise. The hotel is in the middle of Mayaguez town and not safe for solo travelers or families. I was from Puerto Rico and I will not stay here again.The staff like always some good and some horrible. The wait is horrible to check in . Only one person to assist guests.

The staff were great, they accommodated our inability to speak Spanish. The hotel is nice. My only complaint is the pool is indoor and at least the second floor rooms open into the pool area. The pool is open until 10 and voices really echo. The pool was busy with kids until 10 and we were not able to sleep because the voices were so loud in our room on the second floor. There is dedicated parking off the street, but they don't mention online they charge $6.01 for the parking lot. We were fine with it because the streets are very narrow.
