This is a hotel resort, with nice gym and excellent restaurants. The rooms are very large and the beds are comfortable. It's within walking distance of the center city with many restaurants. The only downside is that the rooms are not soundproof to the internal hallway so voices and luggage moving across the tiles can be loud. The family that owns that hotel should put up signs asking people to keep voices down from 10 p.m. until 10 a.m., and they might want to invest in carpet liners for each floor.

If you are looking for slick flashy and stylized hotel rooms and hyper decorated soaring lobbies, this may not be the hotel for you. Situated on PR’s westernmost point, Villa Cofresi is an authentic locally owned hotel. We held a family reunion here over the 4th and it was a fantastic experience for everyone. The hotel layout centers around the open patio, that encompasses the restaurant, the bar, the pool, and the glorious beach. Like Topsy, the hotel appears to have “just grown”. There are 3 wings, and there are also adjacent condos that seem to be part of the property. The hotel is centrally located to everything, grocery stores, bakeries, wonderful creative handcrafted clothing, all are within walking distance. Attractions on the west side, such as surfing, deep sea fishing, jet ski rentals, and even the La Parguera bio bay are comfortably accessible by car. The great restaurants were amazing, with authentic and delicious Puerto Rican always available. The vast majority of the guests were Puerto Rican, but all staff were completely bilingual, so there was no language difficulty at all. Staff is very well trained, and so pleasant, but if I had one small complaint, it would be that the service is very slow. But that may my stateside mentality, which as a hard time slowing down to island time. I would be remiss if I did not mention one of the waiters Kevin, who remembered my breakfast order and greeted me every morning. I would return to villa Cofresi again and again.

Lively and fun. Nice people and the best food I had on the whole island. Big coconuts filled with strong booze. On the ocean and it is like being on a ship. Pool is not all that though, it was small and generally I did not feel relaxed there. Depends what you are want, people i met there say they go every year, but it just was not my favorite. The rooms are basic- just fine and beds are super comfy-but for a family with small kids it just was not a fit for us at all - it is more a couple's place as the ocean isn't one that kids can go into etc and the crowd is more couple or teenager oriented.

The restaurant at the hotel had a good menu with plenty of choices. Hotel was ready to do whatever you wanted. If your room is directly next to bar and restaurant you will hear the music which stopped about 10pm on weekends. Bed was a pillow top and slept well. You will hear the waves as the hotel is next to the water. There was a water fountain to fill your bottle with filtered water. Had the nachos with chicken and skirt steak it was great a little spicy and enough for 2 people. Great parking. Rooms are big. Rooms have 3 chairs table desk and get as cold as you want. Our rooms had a dehumidifier which kept things very dry. It took a few minutes for the hot water to reach the shower but not a problem once it was there. The staff keeps everything nice. May plan a family vacation here because it's very nice.

The hotel itself is fine. There are some uneven, DIY aspects -- definitely not up to par with brand name international hotels. But the staff was mostly nice and the rooms are very clean in spacious. Main plus: you are RIGHT on the water, with beautiful views and can hop out for a swim ANYTIME. Main minuses: noise, SOOO noisy. They play latin pop music in the bar from 8am to 10pm at a very high decible and it is inescapable for most rooms. We negotiated being on the 3rd floor, which made it more bearable, but might not stay again because of noise. The pool is also very small and mostly for kids. The restaurant food is not great and the drinks are over priced, but that is somewhat predictable. Luckily there is great food nearby in town. Not quite worth what they are charging, but still possible to have a good stay.

The property is very nice, the room we stood in was very big with a balcony and a great view of the ocean. The beds were kings size so we all slept comfortable(family of 4) and the staff was great and accommodating.
