The hotel was in an excellent location right next to the Hibiya Station. Lots of food and shopping options within easy walking distance around Hibiya and Ginza. The hotel pool and gym were both nice, and staff were very helpful and friendly. That said, the hotel is definitely showing its age. Lots of interior details clearly came from a different era, like the light controllers and the lack of electrical outlet by the nightstands. We all had to plug our phones across the room, which is hard when one person had to be up super early for exercise and breakfast before meetings while the rest of the family wanted to sleep in. We had a high floor suite, and the room was quite big for being in Tokyo. The walk-in closet was bigger than some hotel rooms, but the carpet in the walk-in closet smelled like dog urine which was unpleasant.

we stayed at the peninsula tokyo during the peak holiday season (dec 25-30), and despite the full capacity of the hotel, i felt that service was excellent. their concierge was extremely helpful and accommodating, and even facilitated a trip to the premium outlets in gotemba for us. the night we got back from our trip, there was even a fax waiting asking if we had a nice time and if there was anything else they could do! i was at the concierge everyday at least once a day so they had become familiar with me and were very helpful; they would also always ask how our dinner or lunch plans worked out :) location was also amazing, we were a few blocks from ginza, major shopping paradise :) everything was within walking distance, even tsukiji market. there were a lot of starbucks coffees around, as well as 7/elevens and familymart. the subway was directly beneath, with at least 3 lines -- a short walk to the ginza station would give you even more lines/choices. the yurakucho station was also nearby. lots of wonderful restaurants within walking distance. we spent a lot of time walking, checking out the stores nearby like mitsukoshi, matsuya, ito-ya, TOKYU HANDS! muji etc. i think the best part about the peninsula is that you get value for money. AND they let 3 adults stay in a room, which is perfect for me and my parents. would have paid the same for 2rooms at a mercure or a lower starred hotel, so we got a GREAT deal here at the peninsula :) can't wait to go back!!!
