We absolutely loved our stay at The Gate Tokyo. The lobby is stunning, the room was very comfortable and we all enjoyed the delicious breakfast. Our only slight issue was that the pillows were very hard for some of our family— but that is a super minor concern in an otherwise wonderful stay.

We stayed for six nights with our family. We loved the king size bed and the shower/tub combination for our toddler. The staff was friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel!

Great hotel. We had two connecting rooms for a family of 5 and they worked perfectly. Super convenient to the metro, shopping, and restaurants.

3 out of 5 stars

The location of the hotel is very convenient to Ginza and public transportation. The service was disappointing as the room I was given was not the one I prepaid for 4 months prior to our stay. I was given a much smaller room with not a nice view because I was there with my 2 kids (teenagers) who were apparently considered 'adults'. On top of that, I was charge extra. There was so little space, we could barely open the 3 luggages! In the tiny closet were 3 hangers which were not sufficient to be of any use for 3 people staying 5 days. There was a tiny table with only 1 chair so we had to take turns to use it one at a time. The only other place to leave any items was a small 8" 'shelf' under the TV. you could not even leave a large book there, let alone anything else. The bathroom was not clean and the blinds on the window had dust from months ago. The buffet breakfast was miserable and expensive at $25/person. The hotel receptionist did not offer any info on the area, things to do or even mention any facilities/restaurants offered by the hotel. I would give the hotel 3 starts - 5 for location, 1 for service. Very disappointing.
