As a family we needed extra beds. They were comfortable and our room was big enough for the four of us. Lots of space for our belongings. The hair products smell great. The staff is helpful and friendly.

The hotel is very clean and the family room has more than enough space with the sofa bed spread out. Perfect location to sights, shops, restaurants, cafes& bakeries, all walkable. Even to the other side of town, close to the water. Staff is polite and always willing to help. A good restaurant and bar at the hotel as well. Breakfast spread is decent and has everything you need to start the day.

We stayed two nights--parents and adult child--in a family room (pull-out sofa). The sofa was made when we arrived, so that was nice, and there were plenty of towels. The beds were comfortable. This hotel was central to lots of activities, restaurants, the bus stop, and a grocery store. The staff was friendly and helpful, even allowing us to store our luggage on the morning of check-out. Nothing but good things to say.

We had a family room. The room is big and clean. They made the sofa bed already when we arrived. Parking is not that bad. We found a on-street parking spot close to the hotel. The hotel is located at one of their shopping street. Convenient If you would like to walk around and purchase any gift. The breakfast buffet is great and lots of varieties.

Where do I begin — as someone who travels a whole lot, this has been one of the best experiences I’ve had. Weeks before I arrived, I sent numerous messages with questions about Iceland, tours, etc, and I got a response to each question within the day. The staff went above and beyond and gave me 5-star service and I wasn’t even in the country yet! Once I got there, the hotel was right smack in the best area of Reykjavík. It is in the main shopping street of the city where all the action happens. Our room was terrific — very spacious, clean, and modern. The toiletries were top of the line too. But what separates this hotel from all others is the service. Wow did I get service deluxe. Special mention must be thrown Kelly’s way — she spent hours with me looking for the best possible tours for my family. I was literally right beside her on her desk. Not once was she impatient even though I had so many demands and questions. She was pleasant and I felt very comfortable and at home with her. I feel very sorry that I wasn’t able to say goodbye since my flight was very early in the morning on my fifth day. Torunn, who sits beside her, was a pleasure as well. I miss the hotel and the people who work there, so much so that I want to plan my next trip to Iceland at the earliest possible convenience. Especially since the northern lights didn’t come out during my 5 days in this beautiful country. I very much recommend anyone to stay at Alda. I’ll be visiting again! -Paolo
