It was good, clean and nice. But the very modern ambience is also very impersonal in the rooms - no green plants or paintings. The area of the hotel is also stripped of personality with only modern architectural buildings. The breakfast buffet was nice and fresh. But unfriendly towards vegans and especially plant eaters. The receptionist had not much empathy towards our situation of being in a 3-party family having booked a room with room for 3 but only bed for 2. We did not know that. Got offered a bed. But for extra value!! 300 DDK above the price already paid. Not good service. And the bed was stone hard. The duvets were to thick and fluffy and the pillows too. The room was way too warm at night also with the window open.

Perfect for our family vacation. Stayed 3 nights and the location, rooms and comfort were great. The metro is just around the corner and runs every 3 mins takes you into the centre in less than 10 mins. The ferry terminal is also next to the metro so you can travel to Nyhavn every half hour and enjoy the view from the river. The breakfast buffet was great with loads of choice, although like all prices in Denmark it wasn’t cheap! Around £20 per person - so for a family of 5 cost almost £300 during our stay. (May have been cheaper if pre-booked but we didn’t get this option with Expedia) Overall the hotel is more geared towards business people/conferences but don’t let this put you off because the transport in Copenhagen is so easy and efficient it makes Portside a good alternative from the more expensive and smaller hotels in the centre.

he property is a newly built hotel, and the facilities are clean and well represented. The room was good, large clean, decent sized bathroom with rainfall shower or just a normal shower head as well. and had a free upgrade to a junior room from a double Superior. and the windows with Blackout curtains offered a good view of the docks and were soundproofed well, although there is not much traffic in the area. The Flat-screen TV was big, 55 inches The buffet breakfast had a large variety of choices, even vegan option for porridge. The hotel is close, a one-minute walk to the Orienkaj Metro station, which takes you into the centre of Copenhagen. If I was going to visit Copenhagen again. I would choose to stay here again.

Unexpectedly our room had very tiny beds (even a 10-yr old child would hardly fit in it). We sought help from the reception (avoiding the first male receptionist who we met in the morning when we tried to check in / get information about our booking at 12 pm) and a lady described the classification of beds. At our request, she had shown the other available rooms. There was a large room, however the same tiny/single beds. The other one was a bigger room with larger double beds that were actually in fact two single beds joined together. Also she mentioned the characteristics of the beds - single small in a small room, single small in a large room, single medium, double, super sizes etc which was unnecessary and unhelpful. She also said that only "VIPs" could have the latter rooms. I was concerned about the safety and having a decent, comfortable sleep during my stay especially after an exhausting journey. Anyway size doesn't matter anymore, what happened next is more laughable...the mattress slid off from the beds during sleep. We also noticed that the ceiling was dirty and appeared to have an incomplete construction look, very aesthetically unpleasant. Furthermore, it became apparent that room service did not hoover the room the following day. There was also hardly any space to put our clothes, the room had enough space to have a decent sized cupboard! The only positive thing, was the hotel being near the local metro and the current peaceful surroundings.

Metro by train and harbor bus was around the corner and easy quick access to central center. Quiet and away from busy tourist areas. Harbor bus takes you directly to the Reffen street food attraction! Staff were friendly, welcoming and customer service oriented. Top notch! Breakfast was amazing, a lot of options available. Beds were heavenly in rooms with black out blinds, we slept like babies after a full day of sight seeing. There was nothing we disliked about this hotel. The area is under construction so expect this area will become very popular in a few years once all the construction has been completed. Would definitely stay again when visiting Copenhagen.
