Microtel by Wyndham Casselman

I understand they have rooms from all different sizes. My room was extremely small and the smell of fresh spray was really really heavy! Didn’t help that the room was carpeted so it felt very stuffy. Also I pre paid the room with Expedia and it was 30$ more expensive then the hotel itself, the rest of my family in rooms twice the size of mine. I was charged 181 and the hotel gave me a receipt of 151$ without realizing I paid via Expedia. I didn’t appreciate being charge that much more with your services. I will never pre pay with Expedia again!

Even though the hotel is newer, the bathroom smelled like mold. The bathtub had dirt rings all over it. I dont know if it was not cleaned properly or what. And the coffee maker ugh, looks like ut was never washed. We requested toddler bed for my kid and they refused, saying the room is on the smaller size, wont fit. We stayed there before at same size bedroom and we used the toddler bed without a problem.We were not offered exchange on the room even though the hotel was not full. We will not be coming back.

GOOD: Nice staff. Accommodating with time however help with room issues limited as the hotel was fully booked. BAD: Rm 103 was horrible. Security concerns: First guest room by an exterior door that had no passcard control. Was told that there were cameras but after expressing that we still felt unsafe as we had a child with us, they agreed to lock it overnight. For the safety of your guests you should install a passcard reader to restrict access. This should be a given. Cleanliness: Room 103 needs serious work. Carpet was filthy!!! Room is damp and musty. The room’s door has even expanded due to moisture - requires effort to close. Fruit flies in the bathroom and a used bath towel found hanging on back of bathroom door. The smell of manure filled the hallway and our room one night as well…yuck. Once again, the staff was nice and empathetic but could do little to help. We have stayed in a number of Microtels and had a wonderful stay in the Aurora location last week. So our stay at the Microtel Casselman was truly a disappointment as safety, security and cleanliness were not appropriate and substandard for this hotel brand. We shared feedback at various times during our two night stay and then again at checkout. Were advised that they are looking at getting rid of the carpets and will see if the room can get a deep clean. So hopefully the next guest in 103 will at least have a cleaner room. Keep all your locks on though!

My family and I stayed only for one night. We’re impressed by how well the hotel staff treats the guests. We were provided with all the necessities and more. Simple, clean, people snd pet friendly :) The hotel is located near the highway which is very convenient for travellers. Hot breakfast provided. But even at night you can get coffee or tea at no change. All dishes and cutleries are disposable - excellent for hygienic purposes.
