Great stay, although a paved trail around the lake would be nice and a new family friendly menu.

The rooms need an upgrade, the rooms are very cramped and the furniture is very outdated and bulky. The internet was very patchy. There were no hooks to hang the jackets in the room and the space was very tight for a family of four.

It’s all about the location. Absolutely gorgeous. We were lucky that there were no tour groups staying so we had no problem getting into the restaurants. Highly recommend! One suggestion…a less expensive breakfast option especially for those travelling with children.

Location is beautiful. Worth asking for a lake view. Was a bit worried coming with small children but staff very welcoming.

The room is nice although a little bit old. View is unbeatable. Dinning is always over expected. Staff is super nice. We are happy with kids

Stayed here for 2 days on our road trip. Absolutely fantastic. We had a lake view lodge and it was spacious and comfortable. It’s rustic so don’t expect 5 star luxury but it is very good. Restaurant food is exceptional and breakfast buffet is excellent value. Took a walk around the lake and saw a baby moose!
The only thing I would say needs addressing is no wifi in the rooms. With no cell reception you feel a little cut off from home (we’re from the uk) and only had contact when in the main building. It’s only a small thing but unless you’re a reader you can’t really enjoy the room as there is nothing to do (there’s no tv).

Location alone, this place would be awesome. Beautiful lake setting and a nice hiking trail around the whole thing. Staff was very friendly and the breakfast, though expensive, was very good.
Unfortunately, given the price of the hotel, the rooms are VERY underwhelming and need attention. Our room had many small things in disrepair (screen door had a hole fixed with duct tape, shower curtain was falling apart, light fixture was broken, linens were lumpy and old, etc). We made the most of it, though, and had a fire in our room with the robes they offered, which was nice.
Food and drink: The main picture of this place is a restaurant called Cilantro that closes at 5pm. Unfortunate because the views from there are great. The main restaurant is reservation only and was booked full. We ate in the lounge, which was quite good (though our server was not up to par), but it ain't cheap! There's no other food or drink for purchase there, so be prepared to spend .
The property: It is steep and has many steps to get around the property (not the trail). If you have walking issues or kids in strollers, this is going to be a challenge for you.

Staff was excellent, we enjoyed everyone we interacted with from the shuttle, restaurant, lounge and front desk. Everyone was professional and personable which we really enjoyed. The room was nice, we did have some residue in the tub. Water pressure was very low and temperature fluctuated a lot. We knew coming up some amenities would not be available but we do wish there was the cafe dining option when we went. The food was flavorful, breakfast excellent, take out food wasnt packaged as well though so when we did take some to our room the quality was noticeably lower. There was not a fridge in our room which was difficult for overnight bottles for our son so that's definitely something to keep in mind while travelling here with little ones. (We brought a cooler for our stay) We still enjoyed the trip, there were just some minor things we would have liked to see improved.

It is a historic property in a fantastic setting. I first visited the lake as a child more than 60 years ago and always wanted to stay at the lodge. Finally happened and I was not disappointed. Food was excellent, lounge very nice, staff all friendly and helpful.

Overall my review is that we had a great stay. Compared to Lake Louise area, Emerald Lake was a lot more quiet and secluded without so many tourists crowding the area. I loved waking up to the view of the frozen lake and mountains, hearing the birds, etc. If you're here for the nature you've come to the right place!
If I had to nitpick, I could say that the rooms could use an update. Visible broken tiles or old furniture/style. We didn't care that much - that's not what we came for. It was warm, clean, it had a great view, and the fireplace with free and unlimited wood and fire starter was all we needed! As they warn, no wifi in the room - but did make us unplug. Shower works well. Tap water can be drunk. When we came, the sauna/hot tub was under construction which was a bummer.
Main lodge has areas to sit and relax/connect to wifi. The pool table was also fun to use and never too crowded. Bathrooms clean. Service great! Everyone was super friendly - shoutout to Felicia, Leo, Jordan, and Grace!! You must try the molten cake (raspberry, chocolate, vanilla icecream - to die for). Also loved the cherry peach fizz drink and for kids the shirley temple is a winner! The chicken dish for dinner was amazing - had it multiple times - very flavorful though my mom says pretty salty (fine by me). Breakfast potatoes were my favorite but the almond croissant was delicious too.
Finally, fast access to the shuttle that takes you back to the overnight parking lot and lots of great location
