We went down to Calgary for a family trip to the zoo and to visit friends, stayed 2 nights. The pool was fun for the little one, and it was very close to the zoo. We had an issue with the climate control unit that was resolved within 15 minutes of informing the front desk. The only bad thing was that it’s right next to the fire house downtown. So if it’s a busy night for emergencies it’s not the quietest place to stay. But I can’t fault them for that.

Had the absolute best day with my kids. Very awesome. Easy check in. Clean. Friendly staff. Loved every minute. Very disappointed that the pool was shut down as we booked from out of town based on this. And didn’t have the time to go three blocks over to other hotel. Expedia did not know this was closed? Great stay otherwise.

Overall our stay was very disappointing. They provided the basics: a bed, a bathroom, and a restaurant. But that was it, and even those weren't great. The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable and left us wishing we had brought our own pillows. The bathroom has no fan for moisture and the water pressure was so low it was very hard to get shampoo rinsed out of your hair. They have a floating shelf for a "coffee bar" but no plug ins so you have to move everything over to the other table to be able to use it. The restaurant menu is very specialized and minimal and left us wishing there was more food options around. The walls/doors are paper thin and you can hear people's conversations from the next room or even in rooms across the hall. The hotel building shares the Fire Hall building which we did not know, so all night the fire bells ring and the fire truck sirens are very loud and wake you up. I'm very glad we didn't have our young toddlers with us for this stay - it would have made for some very long nights. You are also only a block or so away from the homeless shelter which was very evident later into the evening. And to top it all off, we booked this hotel specifically because it had a pool and hot tub, only to find out when we checked in that they were closed indefinitely due to unforeseen maintenance. Honestly, it looks pretty and works for a quick night of sleep but it made our weekend getaway a bit of a disappointment and won't stay again.

Great location for Christmas shopping downtown and close to visit family members who reside in the area.
