We had an amazing time. Great breakfast and amazing staff. Everyone was welcoming and friendly. The beds gifted us the best nights sleep we've had since before our newborn arrived. Ha!

The check in process went okay, except that it was a child that greeted us instead of an adult. It took a little while for an adult to actually appear to check us in. The room was okay as well. Nothing spectacular at all and not enough towels for the 3 of us. I had to go down later and ask for more towels. That ended up taking a good 20 minutes because nobody answered the phone when I called. I don't blame the front end person, however, because a lot of people were trying to buy sodas and snacks and needed to pay her for them but couldn't seem to figure it all out. This person was the second person I encountered at the hotel, and she was very friendly and helpful.
The person who checked us out the next morning was also very personable. The hotel itself was pretty loud with a lot of raucous guests and thin walls, but it was well located for us to walk/drive to the downtown area, so that was nice.

I usually stay at Wingate in Hurricane or Embassy. It didn’t have towels when I got in the room which I didn’t notice until my kid was already in the shower, there was dirt on the tile foyer of the room and the tub wasn’t draining until I ran hot water in the shower for a solid few minutes. The metal screw stopper for the tub was sitting on the outside of the tub floor when I got in. Beds seem clean and the room was spacious. They had a legit Keurig which was neat.

Fairly decent hotel in a relatively average neighborhood. Close to all of the good downtown things you'd want to be close to. The beds were remarkably comfortable and the whole family slept well. And the morning breakfast offers enough options to keep everyone happy.
The downsides were more annoying than actually bad. For some reason about 75 percent of the stations on the hotel's cable were out. The front desk said it was because there had been a storm on Thursday. And that it could not be fixed until Monday. Just odd.
Overall a 3.5 out of 5. It's adequate, fairly priced and the kids were happy.

Overall, it was ok. The hotel and room was clean which is the most important thing to my family. The checkin was business neutral at best. Example; Greeter said "Checking in (No smile)?" vs "Welcome, how may I help you (with a smile)? Breakfast was par.

Our family has stayed at the HIE Civic Center the last two years for youth state wrestling tournament. Facility and rooms are clean, love the included toiletries in the shower, the breakfast is always good. Staff is friendly and helpful.

Easy in and out parking but not a great place to start a family walk from du to busy high speed roads. Water pressure very low and takes hot water a long time to get warm… never hot.

We had two screaming babies in the room next to us and after traveling all day and needing to travel all day the following day, we asked to be switched to a new room so we could get some sleep. The hotel was "completely full". The TV was horrible reception and was completely blown out so the picture looked fuzzy at all times and channels stopped working in the middle of shows. The water never got past lukewarm in the shower and the conditioner bottle in the shower was completely out. The front desk said to ask Expedia for a refund and that Holiday Inn would support the refund fully. Extremely disappointed in service, care and amenities.

One of the things I was most impressed with was the fact that the breakfast area was large enough to accommodate everyone. So many times there are only 4-5 tables in the breakfast area. With small children, that is difficult. But this property had a delicious breakfast and enough room to accommodate all, including the Seniors on a bus tour.
