The George Washington Hotel, A Wyndham Grand Hotel

we always stay at the George Washington hen visiting family in Winchester. We enjoy the historic feeling that compliments the historic downtown district. The convenience of being in walk-able distance to many restaurants and tourist attractions is certainly a plus. A big plus is the staff that is on point with friendly service and attention. The comfortable lounge and downstairs restaurant makes everything so easy. We love it !

Super clean and cozy environment had a blast in the junior suite

It was a beautiful place to stay, loved the pool and hot tub! My room was the junior suite with a jacuzzi and it was absolutely luxurious!

This is a very pretty property and I have stayed here a number of times. The prices seemed to have gone up in the last year. Unfortunately, the hotel was very noisy with little kids running the hall ways and banging doors until after 11 pm, which is not the kind of thing I usually experience at a hotel of this quality.

I have stayed at the GW for more than 10 years. It has always been a five star hotel. Unfortunately, service has fallen down due to COVID and inability to hire servers. Arrived on Saturday, 19 Dec 22. Restaurant was closed! Attempted to order dinner in the bar for grandchildren age 10 and 7. Let's start with Nachos with just cheese. Sorry, we are out of Nachos. Really, Food Lion and Walmart are less than 2 miles away. OK, hamburger and French Fries. Sorry, we are out of French Fries, substitute mashed potatoes. Chef can't hand slice and fry an Idaho potato? No Mac and Cheese on menu, but bartender asked the Chef to make some for the kids and he did. Room service for breakfast was served in paper containers and not plates and glasses as done in the past. Finally, computer system was down and we had to have the Desk Clerk or Security manager let us into the rooms for two nights. NOT what it used to be in service. Sad state of affairs. Breakfast in Restaurant was delicious.

The hotel room walls are too thin- in the bathroom you can hear the neighbors flushing and chatting. In the bedroom you can hear folks in the room next door having sex. it was pretty uncomfortable as I was with my little kids.

Room 424 had a VERY noisy ac unit that made a lot of irritating noise when it clicked on! Also the bar and restaurant were shut down for most of my 4 night stay.. with no warning at check in or anything! I was with another family member who has trouble walking and we ended up walking to breakfast on the walking mall. We are both in our 70’s and Carol walks with a cane, I will be having hip replacement soon so I’m not much better. Your hotel could have done better… rolls and coffee in lobby or some arrangement would have been helpful and notification of situation at check in with options and help!
