We loved the layout of the room in that neither the bed nor the tv are on walls which are up against a neighboring room. This helps create a more quiet atmosphere.
We do think it a little strange that there’s a window from the shower into the bedroom area. Fine for couples, but would be awkward for friends or a couple and their children sharing the same room.

The La Quinta in Winchester should be described as a "pet" hotel rather than a people hotel. We were assured that the third floor was a pet free zone and yet at the elevator on that floor a family with a dog came out of their room. Dogs were everywhere--lobby and breakfast area! We also had to deal with an employee shampooing the carpet on our floor for over two hours. Couldn't rest and couldn't even talk on the phone because the noise was so loud. We have taken the La Quinta off our list for Winchester.

This was a great hotel. Very cozy. The pool was too small for us to consider using it, but children will enjoy it. Nice workout room and free breakfast.
The only downside was that around 11:00 PM, the music from a local business was booming loud enough that many of the guests could hear it. It lasted until around 2:00 AM. It was not the hotel's fault, but something to consider nonetheless.

We loved La Quinta Winchester! Overall the hotel was wonderful, my family loved the pool, gym, and breakfast. Our last day there we had ants in the room (which can happen anywhere) and they offered to move our room or give a full discount for the night (my suggestion). We were going to leave but my 6 year old, La Quinta’s biggest fan, was devastated so we ended up staying. They upgraded us to a larger room and still have a discount. Very impressed with the service; we would stay here again.

The hotel was as described, the staff were on point and courteous. Very professional. The hotel and room were well kept and clean. We would stay here again when visiting our family in the area.

The only complaint is there is no curtain to hide the frosted window panel into the sleeping area. Therefore no complete privacy when showering while children are awake and light from that comes directly to head of the bed if you wait till they are asleep.

Our fourth stay here on way to and from New Orleans to visit family. Always clean and quiet, uniquely decorated rooms, nice hot breakfast buffet.

The staff was amazing but the building was only ok. The pool had no heat and I only found out after getting my kids in the suits and taking them down to frigid water. I get that happens but when I mention traveling with kids you could tell me. The hallways had space heaters plugged in which was concerning. Again I get things happen but not ideal. Lastly the bathroom, at least in our room, was very unfriendly for travelers with kids. Not only was there no bathtub the shower was set up so I couldn’t even help my toddler shower. Not horrible and fine if it’s adults but with kids it was less than stellar.

Thus is one of the nicest LaQuintas at which we have stayed. The rooms have been redone with attractive, good quality contemporary bath fixtures and nice artwork. The bed was comfortable and the linens were good quality. Further updating could include: replacing the doors to rooms that are damaged by the handle/lock set, providing alternative milk like soy, oat or almond for cereal and coffee; and healthier breakfast food. What you provide is FULL of sugar fat, and white flour. Empty calories and little protein. Terrible for children especially, but adults, as well. Also, some attention to recycling all that paper and plastic would be a good idea.
