We had to go to Salt Lake because of a family member being in the Hospital Burn Center. Because we got there late and had to go to the hospital we asked for a late check out. They told us normal check out is at noon, but they will allow us to check out at 1 PM. When we got in the room, I kept finding little pieces of trash on the floor, but we were in the hurry to get to the hospital so I forgot about it.. In the morning before 8 AM housekeeping can start at knocking on the door saying you leave. We need to clean the room. I told her we had a late checkout at one and would be leaving around 1 PM. Every hour they would knock on the door trying to get us to leave. While packing my wife found dirty clothes by the window that didn’t belong to us. There was a spot on the sheer curtains that looked like someone had used it as toilet paper. I brought the issues up with the front desk, staff and they could care less about it. It is the worst Marriott hotel I’ve ever been in my entire life. This morning, I get two welcome messages from them two days after checking out.

The bathtub had dust all over it. There was hair in my bed and the kid checking me in couldn't care less and was more interested in texting than helping me.

The property is under renovation which we weren't aware of. The hotel is a mess. Only one elevator works and when you have a baby in a stroller it takes forever to utilize the elevator. We waited 30 minutes at the elevator to leave. As a mom with a baby and currently pregnant I was not impressed. Also the beds are awful! They're full size and hard as a rock.

Staff was really nice and helpful. Construction limited use of elevator and found the lock was engaged in stairwell so didn't use stairs. Didn't want to get trapped in there. Overall stay was pleasant. Restaurant staff, and front desk were super friendly and helpful. Overall we had a pleasant stay. The only suggestion is having a shuttle that runs to University of Utah campus. Being a suggested Hotel for the University it would be helpful to have transportation to the campus. We had a rental car this time, but many families were waiting out front for Uber.

Elevator was busted on Memorial Day week. A “CULT” of loud kid groups running everywhere, felt like a summer camp, not a Bonvoy elite experience, especially for the cost of the lodging. The hotel restaurant was 2nd rate quality, and super expensive.

This was not great and I would not recommend nor return. Upon arrival we were asked to pay a $12 parking fee for every 24 hours, since the parking lot was owned by someone other than the hotel. Fine. Then we got to our room and the bed was dirty and the shower had a dirty tub and hair on the wall. There is no pool, and the restaurant was not child friendly. I aslo asked the front desk a question about where the stadium was (1 mile down the road we figured out) and they had no clue, and were very unhelpful.

I was disappointed because…
1. I received the wrong room. I booked a room with two beds and received a king making it so we had to purchase another room. More money we didn’t plan on.
2. The pool has been removed that was a bummer for the kids.
3. You have to now pay for parking. It’s kind of frustrating because I paid $200 per room and then had to pay for parking on top of that. Just a way to make more money I guess.
I’m disappointed. My husband and I use to love coming here and now I don’t think we will be returning

My husband had major surgery and I really liked how close it was to the University of Utah. I thought that the staff were very personable and helpful. I stayed three nights in a row and every staff that helped me did a great job. I will definitely recommend the Marriott to family and friends.
There were two things that I didn't like.
The sink in the bathroom the first night had a BIG clog. When you washed your hands or brushed your teeth, you felt like the sink was going to overflow. This should have been reported by housekeeping when they were cleaning the sink. There should be a way to flag the rooms that have unresolved issues, so that when possible, guests are not subject to those issues.
The third night I stayed, I stayed in a room with a king-sized bed and a step in shower, rather than a tub with a shower head. The shower door would not stay closed during my shower. The floor got sopping wet because of this and the floor was slippery when I got out, even though I spread out a towel to step on when I got out.

The hotel is nice and well-kept.
The staff is welcoming and helpful. The front desk staff was great and the head waiter for the breakfast buffet was exceptional. He made every effort to accommodate our party of nine - us, our grandchildren and their parents.
There’s free parking too!
