Took our friends and the 9 kids we all have between us and spent the night there. The rooms were a perfect size to be able to hang out, the pools were beautiful and very fun, the staff is all professional, helpful, and friendly, and we felt like royalty during our stay.

Just gorgeous. Many lovely shops. If you have kids, the Kid’s Shop is unbelievable! I’ve never seen anything like it. Great food. Great rooms. Excellent staff. Worth every penny.

We stayed here for our family staycation on NYE. We usually stay at Little America in a Tower room, but this year we decided to splurge and stay at Grand America in a suite. Was it worth it?
Check in: Both hotels have valet parking and a gorgeous lobby
Room: One of the reasons we chose The Grand is they still have the Victorian furniture in the bedrooms. My daughter was excited to stay in a room with “castle” furniture. I was disappointed to open our door (rm 274) and see dilapidated rattan living room furniture. What? It was so out of place with the rest of the decor. It definitely did not look like “castle” furniture.
Bathroom: This redeemed my daughters visions of royalty. The dressing area and bath met all of our expectations.
Afternoon Tea: Superb! I highly recommend this experience. We dressed for tea and had a delightful hour indulging.
Pool: The indoor pool is large and the changing areas were clean. The pool was not crowded. Little America has more young families and the pool area can get crowded.
TV/Movies: The hotel chrome cast smart tv option was down so they offered us a free pay per view movie. We prefer smart tv.
Quietness: We could hear what was going on around us and above us. I am assuming this is due to the age of the building.
Late Check out: We paid $50 to get a 2pm check out.
Conclusion: If the room would have looked like the photos online we would choose Grand on NYE because of crowds at Little.

Hotel is fantastic however the restaurant setup is terrible. Nowhere in the entire hotel to eat with children from 2-5. The last thing we wanted after arriving at the hotel is to pack everyone back into a car to find someplace to eat. Laurel is there, use it!

This is the nicest hotel in Salt Lake. However, if you are looking for something quiet and relaxing, avoid staying here during Christmas time. All hell breaks loose and there are kids running EVERYWHERE! The decibel meter triples in December.

This is by far and away our favorite US hotel. It is a unique and elegant property with so many special touches you are pleasantly surprised at every turn. The decor is stunning, and the holiday touches that included window boxes that had interactive QR codes to tell the story of different celebrations around the world was fun to watch the children interact with. They also has a giant gingerbread house display unlike anything we had ever seen.
There are live entertainment options each night, and an awesome jazz trio for the Sunday Brunch which was nearly as good as the food.
We enjoyed the spa services, indoor pool, comfortable and spacious rooms, hand crafted unique cocktails, and employees that were always happy to welcome and assist. Perfect charm, perfect hospitality.

The Grand America is a beautiful property that always feels cozy and warm. It feels a little extra special during the holidays. The food is mediocre. I would definitely venture out for better options. The Spa is lovely and the Afternoon Tea is a must. I have two kids with Celiac. I would not say this establish is very gluten conscious or allergy conscious. My server kept bringing my child gluten items. It was as if it didn't quite register. All in all, it's a wonderful place to stay. The concierge will certainly go above and beyond to get you Utah Jazz or theater tickets.
