Holiday Inn Express & Suites Denton - Sanger, an IHG Hotel

We drove about 4 1/2 hours to stay the night Saturday, attend a wedding Sunday night and drive back home Monday. We knew we had limited time at the hotel, since we planned on meeting up with family and friends we hadn't seen in years. We had a three hour window Sunday from about noon to 3pm to finally get some rest before the wedding. All of a sudden the loudest music started blasting from right under our room. I'm talking full on concert speakers with ass rattling the floor and walls. My wife called the front desk, and the young man said "oh yes, that's a church and don't worry, they only play until 5pm." My wife said wow, that's five hours and it's extremely loud, but the clerk just said sorry. It just got louder and louder, so we called again and asked if there was any sort of remedy, like moving us since we were in the second floor, right above the concert. The front desk clerk said "Well, you know it is Sunday." Wow. We said no way, can you please move us to another room? He said come to the desk. I went down to speak to him and he said something, but the concert was so loud, we had to practically tell to hear each other! I think he understood our situation. He gave me keys to another room, third floor all the way at the end of the hall. When we walked in, the room smelled like a dog kennel. Seriously an animal shelter that had not been cleaned. We figured we'll, the bed is clean and we could barely hear the concert from this new stink box room, so we took our nap.

Good hotel for families / breakfast selections were good too

The kids were not trained at all Well. One was in training. The rep who checked us in blurred out our room number in front of another person in the hotel and was easily flustered. Additional training before you put them on the floor would be an asset.
