Holiday Inn Express & Suites North Dallas at Preston, an IHG Hotel

Big families take your own towels. Family of five here and they only would provide three towels to us. I have little kids. Who enjoys using a wet towel from their previous sibling?

The good: Pretty dining room, sufficient parking, really kind staff. My kids loved the pool. Really comfy beds. The not so good: Our shower looked like it was under construction and wasnt the cleanest, big roach in our room, new dirty spot on carpet, they ran out of breakfast the last day of our stay so we had to go get something, pool seems like it needed to be cleaned as it was very cloudy. Food on trash not cleaned off our entire stay. All in all, I'd give this hotel a 6. It wasnt the worst.

It was very loud. We were on the 2nd floor and i understand there was a big group of kids there for a jr Olympic event but we could hear them at all hours of the night and morning running up and down the halls. Other than that the room was beautiful and comfortable. Temperature and bed wise.

I stayed with my family in the two queen beds and one roll out couch room. We checked in and everything was fine, went out to dinner and came back. My daughter pulls the rollout couch to go to bed and we find not only were the used sheets prior, there was also trash, bottle caps, a whole orange, and a used hair towel! We were disgustingly horrified and called to switch rooms, which they happily accommodated but we were already settled and was a huge inconvenience to pack up all our stuff. On the day of check out, we asked if there were any options for a discount, due to the inconvenience, and the assistant said that she would give our number to her manager and make sure to call and they never did. Be wary when booking, but otherwise our stay was fine.

Very clean and quiet. The pool heater didn’t work so my kids had to play in the freezing cold water( yes, they still wanted to play in the pool lol) other than that everything was good. And my family enjoyed the breakfast too. Highly recommended for family with kids!

Incredibly busy area to navigate to get into and out of the property. The room was clean and quiet though, you couldn't hear any outside noise. Modernized amenities and furniture. Having a hot breakfast was nice too, not one of those cheap grab-and-go's. My only complaint is the pool. It's December and I was traveling with small children so finding a property with an indoor pool was highest on my list. We were disappointed to find the water was frigid and the heater in the room was blowing cold air on high speed. The staff were aware already. I did not book directly with the hotel or I would have asked about it over the phone, but I feel like a note should have been put on the door at least.

Property was clean with modern decor. I did not know we had to ask for room service. Because of that mix up our room was not serviced so we had to ask for clean towels everyday and empty our trash ourselves. Very sure if we had asked for room service it would have been done. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They took care of what ever you asked for. Five of our family stayed in the room so we needed the sofa sleeper. We did not like that the bedding for the sleeper was worn and stained. The other issue was half of the electrical plugs did not work, we were told because of the construction going on in the building. I would only want to stay again after construction was completed.

Property is under remodel. I feel like that should be mentioned somehow. The first room we were put in was filthy. The ceiling fan had a lot of dust on them. The smoke detector was wrapped in plastic (people don't realize that is for fire not cigarette smoke or the devil's lettuce). The floors were stained and weren't vacuumed. The only light fixtures that worked in the room were a lamp and one small over head light at the entrance. The bathroom lights didn't work either. I went and spoke with Jonathan at the front desk and he moved us to another room. It was hands down way better than the first room. After settling in, I started noticing things. The door latch was broken. The bath tub drain was also broken and had a huge hair ball in it. The coffee maker was also broken. The small broken things I can deal with. The first room I could not. All this wouldn't have been as bad except our kids were with us. Definitely not staying at this place again.

I stayed there a week for business. Very busy hotel, lots of kids there, but they were very well behaved and it was very quiet. Hotel is clean and breakfast is hot and ready with a good variety each morning. It's nice because they don't serve the same eggs and sausage each day. The only downfall is that the hotel is in a high traffic area, but it is located to a lot of restaurants. So, if you don't mind fighting traffic, it's a great place to stay.
