La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Chambersburg

Property is very well kept and nice. Stayed on the way back home from Vermont. Same area hotel on the way up way 20 bucks cheaper and awful. This will be our new way point visiting family.

The hotel was extremely accommodating. I was coming to town to surprise a guest and the woman at the front desk helped me to get an early check in, get our rooms all together and even helped with the surprise! The pool room had a moldy smell but didn’t keep the kids away. Other than that it was a great stay!

We were pleased with the cleanliness, welcome, helpfulness, and dog accommodation. We have already recommended it to our son and family as we all travel the 81 corridor frequently. The only small downside was the smell of cleaner in all the areas of the hotel - but we got used to it :-)

The check in process was great. When we got to our room that’s when we were disgusted. Upon entering the room stunk pretty bad. The shower had black mold in it along the seems. The floors were gross and the bed was just as bad. We ended up loading our family of four up to go to the local Walmart to get spray bleach. We told the front desk they felt bad and said they were booked and couldn’t give us another room. He gave us a can of air freshener to help with the smell. After spraying down the shower my kids got in the shower and there was black dirt coming from the bottom of there feet. We thought they were kids and the inside of there shoes might need cleaned.After realizing we couldn’t go anywhere else we were stuck in this hotel. Our mother in law was staying with us and she got a shower the next morning. She went down and asked for a couple more towels and was told they didn’t have anymore. She also said that the bottom of her feet were black from all the first on the floor. So obviously my kids feet being dirty wasn’t from there shoes. At that point we had enough of the grossness packed our stuff up and left the hotel. We did receive part of our money back. Save yourself the hassle and book at the Hilton right around the corner. The staff was apologetic that was about it.

Stayed here with my family for my mother's funeral. The facilities were nice and clean although I liked the aesthetic of the original layout before the updated. Tile around-based boards had some sections that were falling off but other than that the facility was clean and felt safe.
