Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites NEWPORT, an IHG Hotel

We booked a king suite and on arrival were in a standard king, which meant there was no where for our lil guy to sleep, the night clerk was as helpful as he could be for a booked hotel. He got us a roll away bed and was super nice. We had an issue with kids in the pool, they were yelling, diving cannon balling and soaking our things when doing so, he came in and dealt with it and was going to get us quarters to use the dryer for free. He was super apologetic. The next night at the pool he came in to make sure everything was good, which it was. After the pool we needed more towels for our room and he grabbed them happily and was always making sure that we were happy with our stay.

Clean and family friendly

The whole room smelled the entire night. Not fun or family friendly with my toddler.

We booked this hotel because it had a pool, and when we got there found out it was broken. The kids were very disappointed

The room was clean, roomy, and very nice. The staff was very helpful. The daily breakfast had a nice variety of fresh foods. And we liked that it had a small gym on site. The inly thing we were disappointed in was that they are still not offering daily room cleaning due to Covid. It was annoying not having our trash emptied. But perhaps that is not in their control. Other than that, it was great! We will definitely stay there again when we are visiting family.

Very comfortable and close to family

I liked the location, it was close to all of the attractions we wanted to visit during our trip. I was not happy with the condition of our room or the staff. When we arrived our room had old food next to the mini fridge, in the microwave, and garbage and food on the floors surrounding the beds. When i notified the staff they offered to clean it the next time we left our room. So when we decided to run to the local safeway to grab a few things i made them aware that we would be heading out and when we came back it appeared that they vacuumed next to the mini fridge and in front of the beds but left the old food and garbage behind the beds and the mess in the microwave. For how much i paid i was really disappointed that everything was so dirty and was grossed out sleeping there with my two small children. I ended up cleaning the rest of the mess in the room myself but took pictures first.
