Walk in shower needs floor grips, was slippery. Noisy due to adjoining rooms .Robs made for children and not adults. Parking non exist near by eithout paying to park. Curtains didn't cover windows very well . Overall price for rooms not worth the money.

Just an awesome place!!
I was desperate to stay in Astoria (to fulfil a childhood dream of visiting the various sets from The Goonies), but we were unsure if it was a nice, clean, safe and worthwhile place to visit…..well it certainly is. It is full of quirky cafes, restaurants and tonnes of amazing breweries…plus, it is right on the Columbia river with its wonderful wildlife and busy shipping industry. A lot of the old fishing/canneries have been turned into breweries, restaurants and like to beautiful Bowline…a hotel.
The Bowline sits on the dockside and occupies a great location along the river leisure route which is perfect for walking, running or cycling. It has 2 barrel saunas that have windows overlooking the river and often have people playing music outside the front of the hotel adding to the fun/chilled vibe. It has a cool bar/eatery that serves cocktails and food to late on. They also offer you a complimentary glass of bubbles at check-in..,what isn’t to love about that!!! Our room was big and the bed was sooooooo comfy. Perfect for a family of 4 to share.
Overall, a fantastic place and one that I throughly recommend! 10/10. Thank you Bowline!

We had heard great comments from family who stayed at Bowline. We loved this unique hotel sitting over the water. From check in to drink and appetizers in the lobby the staff and atmosphere do not disappoint. Great places to walk and they are dog friendly. The sea lions greet you too.

Cool location with some disappointments. Here are some facts:
- If you choose a "Trolley View" room, your view will be the side of a warehouse (see photo).
- Outside food is not allowed on the main patio. If you get tired of seeing the side of a warehouse and decide to enjoy the view on the main patio while enjoying a pizza from Saraha Pizza, you will be asked to leave. Shout out to Sarah Pizza! Your Chicken Bacon Ranch is indeed delicious.
- Each room has it's own "patio", but it's only about 4 feet x 3 feet and is not private.
- The walls are paper thin. You can understand every word of somebody talking at regular volume in an adjacent room. This appears to be a known issue as free earplugs and a white noise machine are provided.
- Parking is street parking, or you can pay $15/day for valet parking. The valet parking is also basically on the street, so maybe save your money.
- Staff is generally friendly, but there was an underlying sense that my family was not their target clientele, and we did not feel very welcome.
- Being close to downtown and right on the riverbank is very cool. walking to the many antique shops and businesses nearby is very convenient.
- The bathroom doors are trendy sliding barn doors. They look cool, but are very difficult to open from the inside as there is no handle to grab.
Overall, the accommodations were simply OK and rather overpriced in my opinion. The location is pretty awesome, but being that it's a converted salmon cannery, it's in a more

The Bowline hotel has now become our favorite destination when we want a weekend away. The staff was excellent, the accommodations were perfect and the food was divine! We had 3 rooms for our family, and they were all perfect! Next time we will definitely use the sauna!

It really is great- so go…but if you want a skinny on unique parts here they are: The sea lions under the building bark all day. Our toddler loved it- it’s like staying near a zoo. One waved to us in our room. Our kiddo squealed with delight- definitely magical. The place has a hipster renovation vibe: aka if I did a DIY… like it won’t last 5 years. The amount of raw wood that is unsealed with all the moisture in a bathroom is a head scratcher, loose molding… the bathroom reno, it’s just a kinda half ass. That being said the rest is super cozy. The bathtub was ridiculously large and lovely. The tea and coffee in rooms from local places chef kiss. The fireplace. The views are breathtaking. The staff was really accommodating. Food so yum. Bedding lovely. We will come back again. Quirks kinda of make the place.

I am not someone who leaves reviews usually, but this hotel deserves a glowing review! From check in to check out, it was nothing but wonderful! The room was modern, beautifully appointed, and more more thoughtful details in the room than I have seen at any other hotel. Whatever you needed to make your stay comfortable, they had it! And the view! wow!
I will definitely be sending my friends and family here and I will definitely be returning myself

I loved my view of the river. It was so peaceful and has amazing sunsets to watch. Make sure when you reserve a room you get a river view. Otherwise the view of the “city” is pretty much faces one large building.
If you are coming with young children, this isn’t the best place to have them play around. If you are just sleeping there, it’s fine, but it has more of an oasis feel.
I will be coming back.

I liked how comfy the beds were, but the trash cans were difficult to use - Boo trash cans! —Elizabeth, age 9
I loved all the attention to detail in the design and the amenities in the room. I loved the complimentary Prosecco upon arrival and the barrel saunas! We also liked listening to the musician while enjoying cocktails on the patio. It would have been nice to have more kid-friendly food on the appetizer menu. Overall our visit was lovely and we would definitely stay at The Bowline again and would highly recommend to others.
