So, when you first drive up to the hotel, it looks like you're pulling up to an old Victorian mansion. As a side note, i wouldn't be surprised if this hotel was featured on one of those shows like Ghost Facers or whatever they are... but we didn't get any creepy vibes during our stay. What we did get a was a gas fireplace in our room, an elegant clawfoot tub in the bathroom, and a glass walk in shower. We got thoughtful touches throughout. There was a nice rug, couch, cool old desk, and a ton of little touches. There were robes in the closet and the bed was extremely comfortable! The staff was friendly and helpful. He wasn't in a suit... he was wearing shorts and a Tshirt, but he walked us to the room, explained the facilities, and he was the same gentleman that made me eggs and bacon for breakfast!! Overall... I'd stay here again at twice the cost. I'd tell me friends and family to stay here. I'd bring my girlfriend here to impress her... I actually did, and she was. She loved the tub. Again... I can't recommend enough!!

This hotel’s decor is simply elegant. It is obviously a work of love by the family that purchased this abandoned Children’s home. The history is interesting to discover. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There are only fourteen rooms so it almost feels more like a bed and breakfast especially when we were made scrambled eggs and bacon or sausage upon arriving in the breakfast area. We enjoyed strolling the grounds. The garden was lovely. It does events on weekends do we were fortunate to be able to travel midweek to explore Guthrie.

The room was spacious and beautiful. No complaints other than the breakfast attendant who was not very helpful. When asked where the milk was for the cereal she laughed, pointed to a man and said that he had finished it. No sympathy or apology. She also talked loudly about her health issues to another family eating there.

It was an amazing stay! The grounds made for a beautiful evening walk, the parking is gated and private, and the room and staff was all wonderful! I only have one negative and it was that there are no locks on the upper part of the doors to prevent someone from breaking in or kicking in a door. I had a toddler with me which made it hard too keep her in the room safety cause she was easily able to open the door and take off quickly, so each time we enter the room I had to place the holder for our luggage in front of the door but if you aren’t traveling with children then this isn’t a big deal. Overall we loved it and will definitely be staying again soon.
