My family stayed at the lodge. (1 adult, 4 children). The beds were comfortable, the room/bathroom could have been a little cleaner. The balcony wood was splintering off in places, some in large pieces, which was a little dangerous when you’re out there in bare feet. The outdoor and indoor pools were both fantastic! I just wish the outdoor pool was open later than 8 for families. (It’s open until 9 for adult only swim). We also enjoyed the game room. The beach was hard to find, it’s not clearly marked, but the beach and water were both clean and we enjoyed the two trips we took there during our stay. My biggest complaint was the lack of dining choices. Everywhere states that there are two options, the restaurant and the lounge. However, once you are there you see the sign on the lounge door which states you must be 21 to enter. That should be mentioned in the website, in the brochure etc. The only on-site dining option is the Timber Restaurant. Which doesn’t have that big of a menu. And it is pricy! Plus there is a 3% beatification fee on every meal, which I never read about anywhere. The pizza was very good! And not that bad in price. The nearest restaurant not onsite that we found was in Cambridge about 1/2 an hour away. Overall though we enjoyed our stay and were happy at the lodge. I would go back and stay again. Also I’d like to note that everyone we dealt with was nice and helpful as well.

While we enjoyed our time at the lodge (Thursday- Saturday) it is not a place we will visit again. First, I have no problem with rooms/decor being outdated. We didn’t come for a fancy hotel experience. However, when we arrived our hotel room door was ajar and the cleaning lady said there was a flood/pipe/sewage back up the day before. While the room looked clean there was a smell in the air. It would have been nice of the front desk to give us a heads up. The bathroom was not clean (shower/toilet) and the peeling paint throughout the room was not appealing. We did like the patio (ground floor) and the beds were comfy. Second, we came for the pool and of no fault of the lodge the weather was a bit cooler then usual. We tried to swim each day but the water was freezing. In talking with a lifeguard the pool is heated so I cannot for the life of me figure out why they would not have it heated over 4th of July with the forecast in the low 70s. My kids were chattering and we just couldn’t spend the amount of time we intended in the pool. For someone just wanting to lay out it was he great - but with kids not reasonable. We did swim in the indoor pool two days and it’s very nice, but one doesn’t hang around an indoor pool all day the same way. I didn’t understand why there were no towels at the indoor pool and it made it super inconvenient (I think you had to go to the front desk - no clue why). We spent more time then we had planned in the game room because of the weather and l
