Best Western Cambridge

The hotel was good. Normally I would give it FOUR stars. But.... THE BATHTUB IS A DEATH TRAP. Room 209. I don't mean to criticize the management. They might not be aware of this. But for any room, especially a handicapped accessible room, to have a bath tub that is so insanely slippery will eventually result in injury (and lawsuits.) I've never experienced anything like that in hundreds of hotel stays. WHY am I writing this here instead of quietly contacting management? Because I want to make sure that it gets fixed. So -- no insult to the management--they probably don't know, but PLEASE fix that. Otherwise, the hotel was fine and I do recommend it. Lobby, pool were excellent. Breakfast was good. Room met our needs and they accommodated us with adjoining rooms. Service was good. Refund policy a bit rigid since an immediate family member in another city suddenly went into a coma and we had to cut short by one day -- but I guess that's their policy. My main issue here is the bathtub. For ANY manager of ANY hotel reading this -- please check on that in your hotels. Someone will crack their skull or worse!

I booked my room ahead of time several day, I then called day of check in to see if I needed to go to the hotel to check in before my meeting. Was told no Ellis you have reservations. Then went to my meeting, showed up at the hotel and the couple in front of me at the desk were being told them at their room was no longer available. She booked weeks in advance, had two small children and all of her luggage, she was told to find a different hotel even though she had made reservations two weeks in advance, I was told the same thing. The other couple and us all took our luggage and hungry, tired crabby children back out to the car at 10 ocklock at night to find another hotel. To our surprise there were several other families in the parking lot frantically searching for a new place for their family to stay at 10pm. Needless to say none of of will be using best western or and of you affiliated hotels in the future. We all had reservations, plans for our vacations I couldn’t ever imagine customer service this terrible. And I don’t understand because all of us had given our credit card information, the only thing I can imagine is they were sold for more money then they quoted us for. So not only did the mess everyone’s vacations up they did it for a few bucks a room. Terrible

The hotel itself was absolutely lovely! The gentleman who checked us in and out seemed a little frazzled and didn’t really seem interested in asking how our stay was. He was very unpersonable for working the front desk. The people placed in the adjoining room on the other hand were absolutely terrible. It was 11pm and they were either fighting or arguing with kids because they were so loud they could be heard over our tv. At one point someone from their side was shaking the adjoining door as though they were trying to see if it was unlocked to get into our room. Around 3 am I was awoken to to them slamming doors to the point it was shaking our television that sat against the adjoining wall.

Super friendly staff greeted me upon arrival. I asked if this was a pretty new hotel, as it looked super fresh. I was told it was 8 years old. Our room was clean. We were there for my daughter's softball tournament. So, you can imagine it was packed with a lot of families. Yet it was quiet for sleeping. The breakfast was nice and a very clean area! If we ever come back to this area overnight, we will be staying here,

We are taking a family trip... the room itself was decent and seemed nicely clean. We slept fairly good even though the AC was rattling and revving all night long. But the breakfast was the biggest joke we've ever seen at a Best Western. They couldn't even put out yogurt and bananas. The McDonald's down the road beat them by a long shot. 😅

Surprisingly, the room was quiet even though it was next to the elevator and ice machine. Noisiest times were in the morning when people in the hall were talking loudly (perhaps yelling at their children). Though the room was comfortable, the pillows were too soft for my preferences. And the breakfast was typical fare with eggs and breakfast meat. The staff are very friendly and service oriented.
