Hampton Inn Gallipolis

We always stay at this location when staying in southern Ohio. Staff is friendly and the kids love the pool. Always clean and accommodating

Nice hotel. The front desk and the woman who keeps the breakfast area were very nice. Good breakfast included. The cleaning staff were having a smoking party outside the door and using bad language around the children.

We have stayed here in the past with no issues. This trip, however, we stayed on the way to our destination, and the way back. On the way there, the hot tub was not working, it was cold. We figured it would be a one-off situation, no worries, it will get fixed. Told the front desk and they said they put in a work ticket. We left the next morning, and evidently, the tub was fixed as there was steam coming out of the hot tub. On our return trip, looking forward to the hot tub, we were disappointed to find it not heated again. This time the front desk said something about a timer for the jets being stuck, and the heating element shutting off. As we walked in to let our kid play in the pool, the tub was bubbling, but cold. I turned off the switch on the wall that was supposedly stuck and stopped the bubbles. Once again, the next morning, the hot tub was steaming as we departed. We will be looking for an alternate location for our next trip back through the area. This is a good halfway location, but two disappointments within a week is too much.
