Overview

The Niagara Crossing Hotel & Spa offers a comfortable and convenient stay for families, with spacious rooms and a complimentary breakfast. Families appreciate the hotel's location near the Niagara River and the charming town of Lewiston, with its many restaurants and attractions within walking distance. While the hotel is older, it is well-maintained and offers a charming atmosphere. Some families have noted that noise levels can be an issue, particularly from rooms above, so requesting a fourth-floor room may be beneficial. The hotel also features a spa and other amenities that may appeal to adults, while the spacious rooms allow for families with children to relax comfortably. However, be aware that there is an extra fee for daily room servicing, and that the hotel does not always guarantee connecting rooms.

This is a great location on the river and the staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed the deep tub in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet included eggs, bacon, sausage, and a waffle station. That said, I was disappointed by the condition of the hotel and choices by management. After a fun day of activities, one of our children uncharacteristically wet the bed the first night of our stay. When I talked to the front desk staff, I was informed that rooms were only serviced every three days. Daily service was an extra $15 fee. This information was apparently provided in the room on a very small slip of paper I could barely read. I asked if this would apply in our situation. The staff member checked with her manager and we were told that we would be charged $15 to have the bed sheets changed. Alternatively, she could give me a clean set of sheets and bag for the wet items and I could change them myself. I did not expect daily room servicing but I was shocked an exception could not be made in this case. I changed the bed myself. I also heard another guest complain about the lack of regular room servicing. The overall condition of the hotel could also use improvement. The hallways were stuffy and there were cracks in the room and bathroom walls. There was no fan in the bathroom and it was always damp. I would not want to pay full price for a room at this hotel.

This is a gem! It felt homey and welcoming upon arrival. Gardens, plants and grounds were well kept. We were out most of the day and early evenings but the few hotel associates we saw, were friendly and seemed happy there. Our 3rd floor room was on the front of the hotel with a decent view of the Niagara River and waterfront park. We enjoyed having the electric fireplace in our room for extra coziness and thoroughly enjoyed being at the hotel as much as possible for our 3 night stay. Will definitely stay here when visiting family in Lewiston, Niagara Falls and Buffalo!

This hotel was amazing. We had a beautiful king bed riverview suite. When we checked in the front desk was friendly and kind. Our suite was clean and spacious. We had a fireplace, two TVs, sitting area, and generously sized bedroom! The bathroom had a seperate shower and a bathtub. The have a 24/7 convenience store area in the lobby and a very nice free breakfast. It is a 30 second walk to the river, and there are a variety of amazing restaurants within walking distance. We chose this hotel because it was about 15 min outside of Niagara Falls. The price is lower being outside of the main tourist area. Be advised this is a older hotel, but the friendly staff, cleanliness, and charm of Lewiston make this place amazing. They also have a spa which we did not visit so i can not review but it looks lovely, and they host weddings and parties. There is also a bar in the lobby, which we did not visit. We did hear some music from the banquet hall below around midnight on a Saturday however we have a toddler, so we do not mind the noise too much! This a great for families with kids who want to run and play in the room and enjoy their vacation. Overall, historic hotel on the river, quick drive to Niagara Falls, clean rooms, free breakfast, good for family time.

Pros and Cons of The Niagara Crossings Hotel & Spa Pro: Great staff and very friendly and accommodating when checking in. Con: Leaned heavily on the system and Customer human error as to why they could not accommodate us. Situation: We were informed that despite booking two rooms at the same time, they didn’t know to keep them side by side or at least in the same floor since there was no note provided when we booked. We were separated by a floor. On top of that the room on the second floor was only accessible by crossing through the NYE party since it separated the elevators and our wing. Pro: We were informed of the NYE party happening that night and the noise policy would be extended to 1am and that we were welcome to enjoy ourselves throughout the building with no concerns. Con: Clearly that only applied to the party goers. Situation: Once being informed of this we were told that not only was it okay to walk through the party when needed to access our room, we were also told that we could enjoy ourselves anywhere else through the building with no issues regarding noise. Well, once one of our kids, a young responsible teen, walk through and did a little dance while doing so, warranted a complaint, and that resulted in us not being allowed to us the elevators and to use the back stairs to access our wing. The hypocrisy wasn’t appreciated and it almost ruined our stay. Thankfully we had plans of our own for the night but didn’t feel respected as guests.

The concierge was excellent. My family and I felt so welcome. I loved my stay at this hotel. The location and its surroundings were beautiful. The only negative was that there was a blood stained sheet on one of the beds which we think was an oversight. But again, we loved our stay there.

Traveling with 2 teenage grandkids. We enjoyed the hotel and the general atmosphere in Lewiston! We all agreed that it was a great choice. It's within walking distance of great restaurants and a lovely bakery.

Our family stay here was good overall. The hotel is older for sure but it is very well maintained and in great condition. Very spacious and comfortable rooms. The complimentary breakfast was good. The best thing was the location on the riverfront and the town. Plenty of food and shopping choices. Only thing that was a negative was being charged $50 extra for each room as we checked out too close to 11AM I guess. The counter was a bit busy with other customers before us trying to rebook for their next stay.

This property has huge potential! Right by the river and a choice of two restaurants directly across from the hotel on the water. Cute little historic town with a ton more dining options. The building is under renovations but that wasn’t the problem. It was that they skimped on wall and floor insulation so you heard EVERYTHING! We were on the third floor and had a family above us. Them just simply walking across the floor sounded like they were doing actual renovations. Thankfully they were quiet at night but the kids were up at 7:30 each morning so if you’re not an early riser, it’s an issue. My headphones couldn’t even stop it. No noise complaint of course as they were seriously only walking around. My advice is if you’re going to stay here, get a fourth floor room. Other than that, the rooms are very spacious, bed was comfortable and sheets were white and welcoming. The bedroom was separate from the sitting area and would have been great if there was a door between them but the AC is in the sitting area and is used to cool the entire room. Bring a small fan for better circulation or the bedroom gets stuffy. Staff was very nice, Nicole in the spa was wonderful!! Great massage! Breakfast was hot and yummy but would be nice if it was offered till 11 am instead of 10. Coffee and tea all day is nice. Definitely would not discourage anyone from staying but fourth floor is the way to go. Also, there’s a free trolley that will run you into town and to Niagra state park.
