Beautiful hotel right in the heart of everything! It is an older building with small imperfections. But the staff were incredibly kind & helpful. Our room was lovely and comfortable. And we walked to 99% of the activities we had planned for our vacation. They even gave us a last minute early check in. Our family will definitely be returning here.

We had a great night's stay with a city view from the tower part of the hotel. Beautiful room, soft sheets, comfortable beds very clean bathroom! It was lovely to look at the lights during the night. The staff at check-in was fantastic, the staff we met in the hallways were very kind and polite. We did eat at Minerva's which was not that great. The staff was very good but the food was a bit sub-par especially for the price. My daughter ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes and broccoli-the broccoli was old, covered in brown spots, the mashed potatoes were so over-seasoned with garlic she couldn't eat them (did not think that was possible-we are garlic lovers) and the salmon was not cooked all the way. They seemed to be out of all vegetarian options so I had a salad that was mostly red onion and my husband's chicken quesadilla was supposed to be shredded chicken and it was cubed with large slices of tomato in it. Just sharing because we want them to be successful seems like a rough night for them. The pool was fantastic, clean, and fun with a great hot tub and area for the kids. The pool water was warm and not freezing-really great! The towels at the pool were incredibly scratchy-we decided maybe they were exfoliating towels:)

I have stayed here in the past, but this was disappointing. I left two messages prior to the stay and never received a call back. The room was small and carpet was dirty, there were crumbs on a chair by the window, gross! My kids asked if we could be up high and the front desk person rolled here eyes at us, said we were on the third floor and that they had a lot of guests that weekend. She was very annoyed that we would even ask. Then we got up to a dirty room...Also tried to order room service as it said in the binder in the room...turns out there is no room service and hasn't been for years, again the people on the phone sounded annoyed. My daughter left a new dress in the drawer after we left. I called right away and again...no answer and no call back. This was so disappointing!

This property was amazing and everything we needed. We will definitely be back soon. It left a mark on us and we have a new love and passion for tea set city and can't wait to bring our kids.

We stayed in the west wing (as opposed to the older, historic side). My understanding is that this wing was built in 1964. It's pretty dated. The pictures on their website are fairly representative, with just a bit more wear and tear. The two best things going for this hotel are the location and the pool. Nice, big, clean indoor pool and jacuzzi along with a big kiddie pool. We were there in late October (offseason) and had the place pretty much to ourselves.

Great location!! Glad we had a balcony room, Although balcony was small still enjoyable to be outdoors. Grandkids enjoyed the spacious pool area. Ice machine closest to us had no ice for two days and coffee in lobby was empty one morning. However, the location made up for the small amenities issue. Walked everywhere and since convenient parking available at hotel no need to find parking!

Nice hotel. Can tell it is aged but they take great care of it. Pool was perfect for all ages. My kids swam for hours.

This has always been our absolute favorite place to stay in Traverse City. My husband come several time a year for business and we go several times a year as a family. I have to tell you covid has not been good to this hotel. As a business owner, I fully understand the staffing issues but this is crazy. The Beacon Lounge is closed indefinitely (one of the best features of this hotel), the restaurant has weird hours and was never opened when we wanted to eat and there was never anyone at the front desk or anywhere to ask questions or help. Worst of all the nightly rate does not reflect these issues. It’s one saving grace was the pool and hot tub. Very saddened to say that we may have to look for a new favorite. :-(

Always a pleasure to stay at the Park Place Hotel. The new swimming pool and hot tub were fantastic. Pool was minimally crowded which was great. I wonder if most families with children choose beach hotels. If so, they are missing out! There is beach access just across the road.
